It was underneath so unfortunately not a slash. Just a stick lift. It’s a judgement call if it’s away from the play. Though some refs with call interference if they see a stick go flying.

So unfortunately the stick lift away from the puck is something that’s like a fine line (it’s not slashing because it’s underneath, that’s why the ref motioned upward). The problem is, it’s a player safety thing. You can’t just have players sticks flying out all over the place. Some refs will call it interference if they see a stick go flying away from the play. I guess this ref decided it was close to the play. Anywho, nice response by Nino.

I mean they are sending everyone. New York has like 2-1-2 forecheck going and it’s bordering on them sending all three forwards in which creates a ton of space in Carolina’s end because now our centers have to come down and play behind the net. I just think it’s more open which is a product of the way New York is playing rather than us playing poorly.

Eh disagree. Things were going to change based off of New York switching their style. Our entries have been the easiest that we’ve had all series. A Svech post and a KK grade A could have easily had us with two goal's. Rangers are creating more chances but they are giving up a ton.

That one sucks because this is our best start of the series. New York doesn’t deserve that goal.

You don’t pull a hot goalie, it’s rule number one in the playoffs. Outside of Binnington (who hasn’t played as many games), Raanta has been the best goalie in the playoffs. The only way you pull Raanta is if he loses two consecutive and in a fashion where he’s giving up bad goals.
