  1. I wouldn't have wanted Harbaugh. He's far better suited to college coaching (though you wouldn't know it right now). Riddick? Is he really that good or is he another Jon Gruden like guy with a know it all image because he's got no accountability? I honestly don't know. And Fields? Well, we know where that stands.
  2. Sportsbooks are lousy predictors. Betting sites had us drafting Justin Fields, hiring Jim Harbaugh as head coach and naming Louis Riddick GM.
  3. Nah, just plain stupid... and also wrong. Linville was anti-Herbert. I wasn't.
  4. I have zero interest in Okung or Short, and I suspect the Panthers have even less than I do. As to the rest of the bunch, they're free agents for a reason.
  5. Speaking of free agent tight ends (slash quarterbacks)...
  6. I wish you'd apply the second part of that advice to your posts. Rhule is not in any danger yet.
  7. No they're not. Tepper gave Rhule a big contract and plenty of leeway comes with it.
  8. That and five bucks will get you a coffee at Starbucks. The only records I give a sh-t about are win-loss records. If we win games this season, I won't care about anything else.
  9. Seeing rumors that Knapp has died. Haven't seen anything definitive yet but it looks that way.
  10. Well, if he's pointing to the Doug Farrar article that Tim Weaver quotes here as authoritative, I wonder if that means he also agrees with what Farrar has to say about Cam Newton in that same piece. (Newton is listed as the worst quarterback on five-step drops) Have said already that I don't know how Darnold's going to do (hope he's good, obviously) but I do know that Tim Weaver is one of the worst Panthers writers there is so I don't take anything he writes seriously.
  11. It's the same thing that happens to reporters. Circumstances shift, teams change their minds, misinformation gets out (or is deliberately put out) and it gets pretty hard to tell what's real and what isn't. It doesn't make someone a bad source.
  12. A player that used to be good isn't really worth much. It typically just makes them cost more than they're really worth now.
  13. It's the most common scheme used in West Coast type systems.
  14. Good analysis. The hardest thing about measuring football performance by stats is that there are so many things you just can't quantify. How nervous a particular lineman makes an opposing quarterback is one example.
  15. And you're completely objective on this topic, of course...
  16. That's why I'm not high on the idea. I feel like Daley would be Okung Part Deux.
