Not bringing in competition for Darnold or Slye was a huge mistake
Mr. Scot replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I always love when fans say "Well, they didn't pick the guy I would have so they must have screwed something up and their first priority isn't winning." Yeah sure. I mean, smart, professional football people couldn't possibly have disagreed with your logic. Right? -
He kept repeating prior to the game that Darnold wasn't going to play despite Rhule saying he would. I'd guess he's trying to find a way to spin it so his pregame statements look less dim.

Gantt... Grier was better against the Ravens than Walker was against the Colts...
-
Still hanging on to those two goofy arguments, I see. I do agree Walker would be really helpful if we're prepping to face a team with a crappy quarterback.

His mental state is why this is a bad idea. Rosen thinks he's way better than he really is and acts like an entitled brat.

Ask me in about ten weeks or so. Rhule and Fitterer watched the film of Darnold's entire Jets career. Fitterer had already scouted him for the Seahawks and Rhule met with him when he was interviewing for the Jets job. They and the rest of their pro staff decided they were comfortable with him as their guy. Will they be proven right? Don't know, but I do know preseason freak outs are silly regardless. -
In the preseason...it's not.

It doesn't tell you anything of the sort. What it should tell you is that it's preseason.

Wow. Just...wow -
Off the street? Probably not but sometimes final cuts offer up a surprise. If they really want to improve, the best option is probably to offer a trade of a lower round pick for somebody like Jacob Eason.

Speaking of Teddy... Klis is a longtime Denver beat writer and one of the best sources available for Broncos info. All I can say is this could be fun to watch

Didn't look like it last night. Gantt previously speculated that Elflein will replace Paradis at center next year since he doesn't believe they'll re-up with Paradis. And honestly, why would they? I agree Paradis has improved since we first saw him, but he's still not great. If we're gonna replace him though, I'd prefer it be done with a draft pick.

Gantt's take... Walker had a rough night, and Grier was better against the Ravens than Walker was against the Colts, so this competition may truly be tied now. Panthers.com: Rapid Reactions

Difference in style... Grier was more like the steady guy who isn't very exciting but also doesn't make huge mistakes. Walker is the guy who makes a load of bad plays but every once in a while gets a big play... including some for the other team.

Well, what I contribute is at least based in reality. For example, here's an actual quote about how much time Darnold was expected to play. Oddly enough, nowhere does it say significant amount. Nor does it seem to say that anywhere else I've seen, but you insist that's what you read and when someone challenged you to produce evidence, you just went off and said some unrelated stuff that made zero sense. Perhaps it would be wiser to just admit you were wrong.

Will Kunkel said it was Anderson. Guess he was right.
-
Nah. I just call you out when you're wrong or have a bad take. It happens a lot.

No you didn't, and no it doesn't.
