    Remember you have to allow for around 7 million or so (if I remember correctly) for draft picks, plus some for transactions during the season. Basically, we've got nada.

    I don't really want us to trade down that far. It'd have to be a damn good trade package, and you don't often get that from the Patriots.

    I get the feeling that's more likely to end with Roman being let go than Jackson. I will grant though, at some point Jackson needs to show that he can win a playoff game.

    I think the better discussion there would be which of the two can finish more games before getting hurt and being put on IR.

    Call me old or just too much of a football nerd, but I'm not really familiar with a "bikini mock draft". I do remember a goofball show called "Son of the Beach" that was basically just hot chicks and double entendres.

    I don't know that Rivera hates quarterbacks so much as he just doesn't understand them. Having seen what Ken Dorsey was able to do with Josh Allen, the fact that Rivera made him walk on eggshells around Newton is a real pisser. Who knows what could have been?

    Hence, why I said "last year". As to Darnold, we don't know the results of that yet so framing it as something negative is premature.

    Confirmed by Albert Breer in an interview with Dan Patrick (a little after the 11 minute mark in the video) Fitterer said in his pre-draft presser that the Panthers had talked to at least five teams about trading down. Now we know who one of them is.

    It's as much about Kiper's personality as it is about his evaluations. ESPN wants McShay to be the next Kiper. He isn't.

    I look at Kiper similar to how I look at Jerry Lawler and other "bad guy" announcers in wrestling. You hate them, but you still watch. (shock jocks would be another comparison)

    I'd guess your most likely meltdown scenario is there being a top five quarterback available at pick eight, and we don't take them. You gotta figure there are some people who will absolutely rage if that happens.

    For the record, I was pretty high on Fontenot as a GM prospect for us. That he's now with the Falcons scares me a little.

    Other favorite draft moments: The Vikings not getting their pick made in time... Watching the souls of Jets fans leave their bodies as they picked Kyle Brady over Warren Sapp... Drew Pearson massively trolling the Philadelphia crowd with an extended monologue about the Cowboys' greatness...

    Give him credit: Kiper has a crazy memory for stats and measurables and stuff like that. But he's not an evaluator, never has been.

    First draft I ever watched, this happened For the next several years, when my friends and I got together to watch the draft, whenever they first introduced Kiper we'd all repeat that line in unison.
