Yep. Crazy as it sounds, it honestly doesn't sound at all out of character for Jerry Jones.

Story was Jones got drunk, starting bragging to people that the roster was so good he could win a Super Bowl with Barry Switzer and things escalated. To be fair, he did, but since then it's gone pretty far into the toilet so it's kinda hard to say he "won".

They'd have to let him out of his contract. And honestly, given recent results, that might not be as shocking as you might think.

He gave it up to Bill Parcells back in the day, largely at the urging of people within the building. Then when Parcells didn't bring a Super Bowl, he took it as a sign that doing things his way was just as good as anything. For what it's worth, his son Stephen does seem to have some football sense. Maybe as his influence increases, things will change.

There are red flags with all of them. The secret is to know which ones to pay attention to and which to disregard. Wise teams can do that. Others, not so much.

According to the media... And that's our problem as fans. All we know comes from NFL and team media reports. Those same reports last year had Nathaniel Hackett as the second coming of Bill Walsh (spoken as someone who bought in). There's no way for us to see what's really going on behind closed doors.

Isn't that basically what we did with everybody else? That's how the first rounds of these interviews work.

Pretty much, though granted the full story isn't necessarily told yet. Last year, Jim Harbaugh walked into the Vikings meeting room like he owned the place. Then after they said "no thank you" he embarrassingly tried to save face by acting like he never really wanted the job. This year, everyone believed other coaching prospects would have to wait until Payton picked his spot before anyone else could be hired. He apparently believed he could hand pick his own GM too. Now they both look like cautionary tales..

Something to potentially take note of... It's possible Kellen Moore might not be under contract right now. If so, he could potentially be in play for a position other than head coach
