Falcons-Bucs here...

I prefer an offensive coach, but I would happily take Martindale as next head coach of the Panthers.
-
Can't leave Don Martindale out of this discussion.
-
Said it in the other thread... If Rhule had been fired this past offseason, Daboll would probably be head coach of the Panthers right now.
-
Had we fired Rhule this past offseason, I believe he'd be coaching the Panthers right now.
-
We don't have a damn professional head coach.

Graziano: "Lots of buzz" Panthers could fire Rhule

Hurney was the first to go into "recruiting mode" but they made the decision together. -

I remember cringing a little when they told the stories about his interview. It reminded me of an elderly person falling for a life insurance pitch. -

Would make sense. Word also is that Arizona State's AD loves former pro coaches. -

No way I could imagine Matt Rhule ever getting another NFL coaching job. Hell, he's been such a disaster that he might have made it tougher for other college coaches to get pro jobs. -
...or to an offensive coach who can hire a coordinator to run the defense and then build the offense according to his own vision.

And all his answers are just clichés... -

I didn't like hiring a college coach... Hated giving him full power... Was concerned about Brady's lack of experience... But once the hires were done, I did what I always do and hoped for the best. And heck, through season one things were looking okay. It actually turned out better than I might have expected. By the middle of season two though, I could see it wasn't working even before Brady was fired. Lord knows it certainly started out looking great, but then suddenly we were losing to teams who had no business beating us. In some cases, losing badly. Rhule just isn't qualified to coach in the NFL. -
Clickbait (congrats, Verge)

PFN: Increasing Communication Issues between Rhule and McAdoo

There's a reason why these coaching mismatches occur. Matt Rhule doesn't understand pro level football. His knowledge of the game isn't deep enough to comprehend scheme differences, playing styles, or anything else more layered than good coach / bad coach, good player / bad player. It's the same reason why when he's asked specific questions, his only answers are things like "we've got to be better", "they've got to step up", "we were ranked this high", etc. He doesn't get it, and he's not going to. -
The logistics to prepare for, say, a team from California to play a team in Europe (or vice versa) would make it untenable. If they insist on playing this out then a new version of NFL Europe would be better, but that's already failed once.

But but but...money!

More than one person has suggested that. -
From the blurb... ESPN's Dan Graziano reports "there's a lot of buzz" the Panthers will fire head coach Matt Rhule "if things don't pick up soon." The Panthers have a 1-3 start under Rhule, who is facing three straight losing seasons, and are 11-26 since hiring Rhule in 2020. Another loss to the 49ers in Week 5 could add fuel to Rhule's already hot seat. Firing Rhule in-season would give Carolina an early start at finding his replacement amid rumors the team is planing a run at Sean Payton in 2023. Ex-Cardinals coach Steve Wilks would likely serve as the interim coach if Rhule is fired. The Panthers have been the league's worst offense through the first four weeks, ranking last in the NFL in third-down percentage (26%) and total yards per game (263).
