  1. Valid, but remember Pickett was a guy Tepper wanted as well.
  2. Being the #1 guy on the board doesn't necessarily mean you're the pick if, say, the head coach (who has final say) has his own motivation.
  3. They only addressed Ekwonu, likely because he was the guy taken.
  4. You can consider it whatever you want. They don't give the cap space back. And that's too much cap space to devote to something like that.
  5. Speaking on NFL Network's draft coverage just now, both Ian Rapoport and Peter Schrager stated that the Panthers were indeed prepared to take Kenny Pickett at #6 if Ikem Ekwonu hadn't fallen to them. (no link per video only, may be one later)
  6. Reports now confirming the Panthers would have taken Kenny Pickett at #6 but didn't expect Ickey Ekwonu to be available.
  7. That's what we have coaches for though. I don't value the idea of a mentor enough to devote 18 million plus to it
  8. That's what Snow covets on defense. The downside is that we have enough undersized guys to be vulnerable to the run.
  9. They've got a few years head start on us.
  10. Because then you're paying Darnold and a veteran (which likely isn't cheap) for what's likely only minimal benefit.
  11. We could probably use a return guy. (our expected one got arrested)
  12. You don't play guys to "showcase" them. You play guys because you're trying to win. And let's be real: It's not like anybody who happens to be interested in him isn't going to look at all his tape
  13. It's been a long time since I've felt this way, but I actually think we're good on both of those fronts.
  14. By all accounts, that's what Fitterer wants to do, so...
  15. I'd have gone with "short pass". Or more accurately "short of the first down marker" pass.
  16. He and Tepper are both lousy at speaking to the public Fitterer is actually good at it but I don't think he likes to do it.
