  1. If you look at his whole body of work since 2018 he's usually around 45-50 games played and around a point per game. This past year was a career year...huge risk with him is his health. IF he stays healthy....I like the trade LOL!
  2. Why would Toronto want to trade Nylander? Who would we send back the other way? Pesce?
  3. Pesce must be on the way out via trade? Pretty high AAV for Orlav. Great player though!
  4. As much as I like to pick on Pecse, he's not a bad player. Little slow at times and seems to get lazy getting back sometimes. That said I doubt you find someone to match his contribution but I also wouldn't mind more speed! Also, can't spend Aho's money on Brett.
  5. Hope Brett and Brady decide to play a little faster tonight. Show some hustle/heart!!! Play with speed, be active in the neutral zone...don't let the puck come to you. GO GET IT! LETS GO CANES!
  6. Pooly while his scoring hasn't been there he does have potential. I think he's been playing ok but to be on a line with Stepan/Stas isn't going to give anyone much for scoring opportunities. I think we need more speed on the wing opposite of pooly.
  7. Lol I thought it was pretty lame but I could just be a poor sport
  8. Any idea who will carry the 2nd round for the canes TV wise? I assume BSS doesn't have any of the games?
  9. Love watching the bruins crash and burn yet again! All my family is from the new england area so I heard it ALLL yeeah....LOL couldn't happen to a better group of fans IMO.
  10. I think you go with Raanta at home to start. He got you 3 wins in round 1 and the 2 he ended up losing were on flukes. However, I don't want to be the one making that decision!!
  11. Raanta played lights out. Goal to go 2-1 wasn't his fault...goal to go 3-1 was a 2 on 1 after the canes forgot how to skate. Can't blame Rants.
  12. I'll be there!! Lets go Canes!! Canes have to elevate their shot against Sorokin...he's lights out on the low shot...wish I could say the same about a couple goalies I know LOL. Light the lamp tonight boys! Lets go!
  13. Pooly has created a ton of chances for his lines when he's on. I'd also rather see Stepan or Stastny sit. Islanders run a physical game...he's one of the more physical guys on the team.
  14. Let's go Canes!! My son's first baseball game of the season is tonight at 7 lol so I'll tune in where I can. I will be there Wednesday night! Let's get this first W under the belt!
  15. Rockford up 3-0, Iowa tied 1-1. Both games midway through the 2nd.
  16. Rants for some reason can't perform nearly as well on the road. So I think it will be Anderson.
  17. I believe...and someone can correct me if I'm incorrect but if a player is draft eligible and they aren't drafted say last year they're an UFA and can choose to sign a deal if offered one. I know a certain number of college players are eligible for one reason or the other. Rumer has it Rod's son will sign with the canes when he becomes eligible in August. Maybe someone else can chime in.
  18. Excited to see what this kid can do at the next level! D1 hockey is a far cry from the professional ranks but....throw something at the wall and see if it sticks! I like it. Rod connection paying off Quinnipiac University goaltender Yaniv Perets is heading to the NHL. Perets, a sophomore, has signed a contract with the Carolina Hurricanes. He signed a two-year entry-level contract, which comes with a pay of $775,000 at the NHL level in 2023-24 and 2024-25, and he will receive $82,500 at the American Hockey League (AHL) level for both seasons, according to a news release from the Hurricanes. Perets will receive a signing bonus of $60,000. "Yaniv was a crucial part of Quinnipiac's run to the national championship this season, and he has been an elite goaltender for his entire collegiate career," Don Waddell, president and general manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, said in a news release. "He is a proven winner, and we look forward to seeing him develop in the crease." The native of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec, Canada, just helped Quinnipiac win its first national hockey championship in program history. Quinnipiac said Perets is one of the most decorated goalies that coach Rand Pecknold has had in his 29 years at the helm. https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/sports/quinnipiacs-yaniv-perets-signs-contract-with-carolina-hurricanes/3011984/
  19. I know it's been tough these last couple weeks since Svech went out, have to hope they can turn it around. Turbo needs to find his hands quickly. Pooly is 6'4....just lay someone out!!! Someone show some juice out there...JUST FREAKING SCORE! LETS GO CANES!
  20. Drury out, Stastny in? I don't like it.
  21. This team just can NOT score the puck when it matters. Necas? Lost in the sauce...Aho? Finessing his way to nowhere, Staal? Old and slow...pool party? Couldn't handle the puck if it had a steering wheel...its sad really.
