  1. He is very accurate on 50+ kicks(11/14 career) but the limit of his range is literally probably 53-54 yards. We often chose to avoid kicking because of that. Gonzalez is not the answer either. Better off attempting new guys over and over in the hopes one will eventually pan out. "Luckily" we have been a very bad team, so it hasn't reared it's head much. I mean, I hope we even have the opportunity to trash a kicker for missing a GW FG of consequence in the next few seasons. That would be strangely refreshing.
  2. If the concern on Gano was his health, the move was correct. Not on the financial side. It has proven to be foolish. As I said, both of those guys have had success post-Panthers while we have floundered at the position since them. I said when we got rid of Gano that we would regret it and we definitely have. Even with Butker and Gano declining in effectiveness over the years since, they are still far better than what we have had since. If the FSU kid doesn't pan out, we will be right back here next offseason.
  3. The GenX and Millenials are the bulk of the fanbase. Boomers usually had their allegiances already by the time 1995 rolled around. Gen Z and whatever the next one is will have an extremely small Panthers fanbase. Even my die hard Panther friends(who have dwindled to almost nothing) don't really bother exposing their kids to the team anymore. I get it. The NFL and football are going to decline significantly in domestic popularity sooner rather than later. It's just inevitable as US demographics and even moreso engagement is sharply declining in those ranks. The NFL's future will depend on their ability to build an international audience, IMO. There is literally no growth potential domestically in 10-15 years. It's nothing new. The MLB, NASCAR and the NHL had had these declines in my lifetime. The MLB ended up recovering, the NHL is attempting to do so. NASCAR is probably not going to recover.
  4. I think the 7 straight losing seasons, the campaign to reduce fan interest during training camp and the lightspeed stupid decision to start charging for Fan Fest took a toll.
  5. Had we kept Gano or Butker, we wouldn't be in this situation. Literally either of the options available at that time have been far better than what we ended up with. Such is the Tepper era Panthers for you, however. Nothing different.
  6. Well one problem seems to be that almost all our attempts to "upgrade" end up actually downgrading. Pinero was the exception in that he was leaps and bounds better than Slye and the randos in between. Although, Eddy's FG% started exceptional and consistently went down each year. I don't believe we will have an answer this offseason and may not for a long time, given our track record of evaluating that position.
  7. XL is the highest ceiling and the lowest floor on the roster for WR's. I also think Renfrow will play a big role if he can stay healthy. He is significantly better than most of our young WR's.
  8. poo, what has XL done? Coker is far better in comparison, especially when you consider targets/opportunities. The point being, our fans are putting way too many eggs in the XL/Tmac/Coker/Horn basket. If AT and Renfrow just fuging work, they need the reps. It's not just about the development of those young WR's, it's about figuring out if we have a franchise QB or not. That's a significantly more important question to answer. Doesn't mean I want to jettison those guys.
  9. Not to mention that our younger players have yet to proven to be anywhere near the level of "proven." I don't think we have the luxury to be getting rid of effective players.
  10. Yeah, when people use him as justification for bad QB's, I facepalm pretty hard. Using an outlier to argue is just not intelligent.
  11. That was a stacked team inside and outside on that DL. DB is the only player on our roster with any hope of seeing PT in that group.
  12. Panthers games will still be free in the local market, so it won't impact that. I will say that if the NFL is damned and determined to make it as difficult and expensive as possible to watch their product outside of local broadcasts, I am likely going to opt to pirate or abandon further attempts to follow ALL the NFL. It's not hard with a fantastic Hurricanes team and a finally Jordan free and seemingly logical Hornets franchise.
  13. I would say the argument isn't that he won't be picked highly, necessarily. But will this be another manufactured "generational" prospect? I will say given the hype train that has been with Arch so far, it's very unlikely he will be able to live up to it.
  14. You think all this over a podcast???? Brother, I am just gonna let you cook on this holy quest you are on. In the meantime, I will contine discussing this insanely hypothetical trade with others.
  15. Yeah, the character attacks are just purely hilarious. I just am not believing anyone here actually believes DB and a 3rd isn't an insane steal for Parsons as a hypothetical(and completely absurd) trade.
  16. Did you even read that article you linked?? LOL
  17. Parsons is unlikely to have a career as long as Peppers but if he maintains the same "level" of production and plays 12 seasons, it would result in a 124.68 sack career. I got this number by taking the percentage drop in Peppers year 5-12 drop from year 1-4 and extrapolating it out from Parsons sack rate. I also used the same game played percentage as a factor. That would be a top 30 career sack total and he would basically be 1-2 seasons of production away(which is very reasonable) from being top 10 all time.
  18. I mean....if you had to go research all this to support your claims and the best you could do was one guy and a Reddit thread, I am going to definitely say that this seems to be some personal grudge or some other issue you are having. I am literally sending this thread to my friends who are die hard Dallas Cowboy fans and we are laughing our asses off in a group chat. If nothing else, thanks for the entertainment.
  19. I am not sure I have seen a more illogical hill dying event than this. This poo is wild. Lol.
  20. Look, I can see you clearly have some personal animosity towards Parsons to be constructing wild rumors to spread but the NFL cares nothing about that. He is one of the most valuable players in the entire league because of the level of player he is. That isn't going to change because you don't like the kid. It's more than a bit foolish to abandon all logic due to some personal axe to grind.
  21. It really isn't. All of this "me first" stuff is complete nonsense. I am not sure how much more the league has to show that elite pass rushers are premium positions, despite the cost of them being literally at top 15-20 QB pay levels. Now, would roster dynamics and cap come into play? Absolutely. But if those are not on the table, I am very comfortable saying that there is not a single currently employed GM not pulling that trigger.
  22. For reference, for the people who seem to not understand the context here, Panthers GOAT Julius Peppers was averaging 0.675 sacks/game through four seasons in his NFL career. Parsons is averaging 0.833.
  23. I don't think there is a single GM in the NFL who wouldn't make that trade, if given the option. DB is a very good player. Parsons is tracking towards a HOF career.
  24. This is true but this is all fantasy anyway. Dallas very rarely lets great players in their prime get away. He will get paid and remain a Cowboy.
