human psychology is real. growth being a multistep process is real. wins begat more wins by building confidence and growth. you can’t build a winning program by losing.

but it’s not really. drafting is not a hard, predictable science. a dollar is worth a dollar at any bank. a draft position is only as good as the player you end up picking. your dollar could get you a hundred, or it could get you a penny. some times the best looking players end up being nickels, while scraps end up being gold. human behavior is a lot more predictable and controllable than the draft, so i’d argue the win, and the confidence it produces is more valuable than two spots in an unpredictable draft. if draft position was as real as you’re trying to make it, the Browns would be champs every year.
