If we had come out flat again, I think you would be right. I think if we avoid the sweep, he'll get another year to see what he can do with some FA additions. I would be surprised if TD put the fear of God into him yesterday!
-
What's the Canes record this year when even or better after 2?
-
I'm choosing to just focus on how good the Tsar looks right now... lol
-
I hate to say it (and thankfully nothing came of it) but, that little rainbow pass in front of Kucci was a work of art.
-
Before he got to the states, I was a little bit worried we were hyping up Nikki too much and he would be a bit of a letdown. Nah. He's that dude!
-
Both. There was definitely some sort of come to Jesus moment for the team yesterday!
-
Wish I wasn't out of pie already... lol
-
Do the Stanky Leg!!!
-
Dude is a savage! I fuging love me some Kucci!
-
Stanky has to bury that one! Not gonna get too many better chances than that.
-
You can't make this poo up.
-
This TNT crew is fugging hilarious. Svech grades Bob trying to put the puck on net: "You just can't do that. He knew exactly where he was. Can't run the goalie!" Mr Mouthwash hooks, crosschecks, boards and en elbow to the head on the same play: "he definitely wasn't trying to hurt him, he's left handed, there was nothing he could do!"
-
Why do they keep saying Mikkola got the goal? Give Orlov some credit... lmao On the real though, @PantherChris if you bet a player to score and they get an own goal, does Vegas pay that out?
-
I did. It looks like I might have been a bit premature with that take.
-
I'm gonna go ahead and assume Walker is out. So, I'll go Niki.

The Canes physically dominated 2 of the top 16 teams in the league this calendar month. If you truly believe Florida is just that much more physical than us, then what does that say about the rest of the league? Why didn't they go 82-0 this year, if they are orders of magnitude better than every other team?
-
There is beauty in the absurd, my friend.
-
And no, @PNW_PantherMan, that really wasn't directed towards you. Just needed to vent after last night and all the weird toxic positivity on r/canes. I don't think they realize that by absolving Rod of all blame, they are just putting that blame on everyone else. "Stupid doomers, RBA is a god and this team would have folded and moved to Quebec if it wasn't for him!" Is a weird way to support your team.

This sentiment is really starting to bother me. Because, you are right. We do have one of the most well run organizations in the league. And, a lot of fans seem to think that Rod is that entire organization. This line of thinking completely discredits all of the hard work that GMs, scouts and players have put in to make the team what it has become. Not to mention the impact that the ownership change has had on the team. You will never hear me singing the praises of a billionaire. But, the fact is, we went from a cap floor team to a cap ceiling team under TD. Have we dramatically improved from the dark old days since Rod took over? Absolutely. But, he wasn't the only one contributing to that rise. And if he leaves, the house of cards isn't going to magically crumble. At this point, we've seen enough players leave and flourish (or come here and wither) to know that isn't true. The organization isn't one man. But, one man is responsible for setting lineups, line combos, d pairings and drawing up set plays. And, to me, that is what lost us these 2 games in embarrassing fashion. I don't believe that Florida is just some unbeatable juggernaut running roughshot over the league. Last I checked they didn't go 82-0. If you believe this is a personnel issue, by all means, bame the players, the scouts and the GMs. Blame everybody but RBA. If there was one player or position group to blame, I would tend to agree with you. When an entire team collapses, it's not on the players. It's on the leadership and they are the ones who should be held accountable.
-
We just got mollywhopped by our own system. Is Florida more talented? Sure, but not that much better? The team was not ready to take the ice tonight.
-
No, I'm talking about lines, pairings, roster moves, etc. Not the style of hockey we play.
-
The system isn't the problem. It's decision making.
-
It's not about not being able to win the Cup, or even to get past Florida. It's about losing your team. Doesn't matter what sport. Once that happens, you are done as a coach in that town. I'm not in the locker room, so idk for sure if the team has turned on him. But, that's damn sure what it looked like tonight!

It's insane

Stumpy replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Hopefully, you get some good pain pills so you don't even have to watch the rest of this series. Seriously, though, I hope everything goes well tomorrow! Prayers up brother!
