  1. To be clear, you are probably correct... But, we don't really know. Maybe Bidwell told Wilks he had to bring some of that sweet Panthers magic with him and McCoy and Holcomb were the only ones who hadn't already jumped ship to Buffalo. The two men are definitely close. They are both direct disciples of the Chosen Ron. They have worked together for most of their careers. I highly doubt that Wilks would ask Holcomb to accept a de facto demotion. But, Tepper might... Wilks must go through the interview process just like everyone else. After coaching 12+ games for the team, what other questions would Tepper have for the man, other than, "If you were the HC from day 1, what would you have done differently in 2022?" and "If you are HC in 2023, how would you fill out your coaching staff?"
  2. I think it's fair to wager that Wilks would keep him on staff in some capacity. I don't think he would necessarily be handed the DC position, though. Wilks has been working his entire life towards the goal of becoming a successful NFL HC. He has been around the league long enough to see how the game works. He has also had the chance to learn from the mistakes he made putting together his first staff.
  3. And he was an assistant in CLE while Wilks was OC. Then Rhule hired Holcomb in 2020 while Wilks went to the college ranks. They are not tied at the hip...
  4. Holcomb was a Rhule hire... Yes, he has a long history working with Wilks. But, he was here for 2 years before Wilks was rehired this past offseason. Everybody is assuming what Wilks would do with very little information to go off of.
  5. IDK why everyone acts like Wilks could not put together a quality staff. Dude has been coaching in the league for almost 20 years. He has built his resume learning from 2 different major coaching trees (Lovie & Norv) and is universally respected around the league. You could point to his staff in AZ in his one year as HC. But, when the dying geriatric owner is a positional coach and the OC is fired a month into the season, it is safe to assume that Wilks didn't have final say over his own staff. Add in the fact that 2 of his former bosses are on the hot seat this season, and the recent failure of all the wunderkind OCs as head coaches the past few seasons, and the talent pool that Wilks has access to this offseason will be deep. I'm not necessarily sold on Wilks as HC next season. However, I don't believe he would have any trouble filling out a quality staff of coaches.
  6. Been a while since I could bust this one out...
  7. A huddler is dead now... show some respect!
  8. I confirmed it with @Jeremy Igohimself. I drove to his secret abandoned underground Huddle Prime (or whatever that paid sub was) bunker under the site of Tepper's failed practice facility on Christmas Day. Zod made me hot cocoa with little marshmallows and told me that Juan was banned for life. He said that an IP ban wasn't enough, so he got ahold of his contact in the NSA to send in the drones to take out the threat of Juan for good. When he finished knitting me these mittens he sent me on my way.
  9. A Juan post is like an onion article at this point. If you fall for it, it's your own fault. #CheckYourSources #InternetLiteracy #BringBackJuan
  10. At least they are trying something to fix the PP...
  11. I know this is nitpicking, but can we win one comfortably for once?
  12. Errson about to get pulled twice in one game...
  13. Are we about to give up a 4 goal lead in the 3rd period...?
  14. Imagine having to go back in after you just got pulled for sucking...
  15. Out of pie before puck drop... I guess @Jeremy Igo was too cheap to spring for the family pack of Sara Lee's for the holiday season! #weaksauce
  16. Fug the Hangliders and the City of Otherly Chuds!
  17. The Penguins’ locker room was dour. Perhaps angrier than at any time this season (and I’ve been in the locker room for approximately 30 of the 33 games). Evgeni Malkin took full responsibility for the winning goal. Players cleared quickly. A normally available player spoke for less than a minute. And there was also a curt, gritted-teeth tone to coach Mike Sullivan. The Penguins were an angry bunch. Malkin’s mistake was a point of frustration for coach Mike Sullivan, too. His typical 6-8 minute postgame presser was condensed to about two minutes. His answers were honest, but brief. Little explanation was needed beyond his few sentences. According to NaturalStatTrick.com, Carolina dominated the scoring chances (30-19) and high-danger chances (14-5). Carolina is one of those teams that shoots the puck from the rafters. If they can shoot, they do. They fired 36 shots on Jarry, including plenty from tight angles. Pittsburgh Hockey Now
