  1. He has a chance to be good…no doubt. Little early to say he is better than Howell IMO but he has talent. What he did with his supporting cast was really impressive though. Miami is definitely pointed up.
  2. K Pickett was consistently below average before this season. Will be 24 before the draft. He had a nice year but he has red flags for days IMO. Mac Jones was way more accomplished against much better comp on a much bigger stage. Not comparable IMO. The Joe Burrow comp is so out there I just can’t wrap my head around it. Bust written all over Pickett
  3. Good luck in your new position
  4. NFC will definitely win the Super Bowl this season
  5. Sad that we need everyone else to suck so we can win
  6. We should pin this thread…Howell is destiny
  7. Oregon State probably had a better OL and defense than UNC. No joke
  8. Where does Kyler Murray fit in here?
  9. Prove this…no he wasn’t. Russ was very, very average in college. Why wasn’t he picked until round 3 again? Because he was so great right?
  10. Stop with the Heels fan shet. If Brice Young was in this draft we would want him for better or worse. Sam Howell can play. Stop being a fuggin tard Edit…triggered post. lol. Ok we good
  11. Wow…just saw this but yeah. Absolutely a good comp. Sam is way more reserved but toughness, arm and leadership. Yeah
  12. Putting Howell in a realistic perspective. If last years QBs were in this draft he would probably always be the 3rd or 4th guy. It is debatable. I think Howell is going to be that player that rises later that people overlooked. Now…if we pick him he needs to sit…a while as we are one of those bad situations unless Fitty pulls some amazing Merlin type OL signings
  13. You are talking Ridder now. Surprised you know who Tony Pike is to be honest
  14. Now his positives…a flat out leader of the offense. Takes it upon himself to lead a team from behind even facing big deficits. Is mobile in the pocket. Can slide and maneuver through a collapsing pocket like a pro. He made many difficult throws with pressure all around him. A gym rat that lives and breathes football. Plays his game regardless of the talent surrounding him. Meaning he is a playmaker that distributes the ball to playmakers. Can make multiple reads and find the best option quickly. Limited wind up on his throws. Has some of the most catchable, beautiful deep ball throws even with pressure. Will sacrifice his well being to make a play. Has been an unquestionable offensive weapon from day one on campus at UNC. Lots pf growing and refinement room. Has a very even, relaxed personality. Mistakes quickly forgotten and moves to the next play easily. Never rattled. Like never. Tough player who can take punishment. And lastly…his leadership and character were flat out givens at UNC. Mack Brown raved about this guy’s character. Egoless to a fault
  15. Let me be a critic of Sam Howell for a min. He has some serious things to work on here. He tends to drift from the pocket and into pressure from time to time. He has good pocket awareness but needs work there. He also has a tendency to bail out of a clean pocket. The UNC OL was atrocious so that is a problem but understandable. He doesn’t have a rocket arm. Good arm strength not great. Not a great athlete either. The UNC system did allow him to hit the first read quite a bit but he is underrated finding second and third options. Average size to oversee a defense especially under pressure. Will probably see balls batted down more than some QBs. His team especially last season tended to play from behind a lot. Good and bad here as he does tend to force things trying to do too much. Just a fact. Level of competition is questionable to some degree. He does have some sandlot type tendencies where he just tosses passes up for grabs instead of protecting the ball. Needs to fix this. All these things are a symptom of a bad OL and terrible defense that puts him in bad situations but he needs work nonetheless
  16. This just isn’t close to true. Wilson was a decent college QB. Hence he went later in the draft. If you don’t like Howell fine but he would not have a 3rd round grade and if he did his career will probably turn out much like Wilsons in the right situation. Howell can play and at this time has so many things he can improve upon. He makes some throws that he makes look really easy that most QBs can’t do
  17. Naw…when I say trade down it would not be very far. Target OL and QB. Take what the board gives you. One of these QBs will definitely be there mid first round. I know where you are going here though. If they pinpoint a QB he will go at 6. They won’t risk it IMO.
  18. I am going to hope most of the options he mentioned aren’t taken. Kenny Pickett would be a disaster and not better than Darnold. If we build the OL and left QB for later I would like that much better than a Pickett or other QB reach. Sadly, I would put us reaching for a QB at like 90% probability atp. Fitty and Rhule better do some serious evaluations before taking any of these QBs at 6. I like Sam Howell personally but even then I would want him in a trade down scenario. Willis…same. Trade down first. This QB group is really suspect overall. You shouldn’t just pick the best suspect talent and call him the savior.
  19. That goes for any of these players Well done @LinvilleGorge you already know I agree with you on Sam Howell. Again…Sam Howell walked on the scene at UNC and made the offense very dangerous right away. Some ups and downs but he pretty consistently produced as well. None of these other dudes can say that.
  20. You are probably correct but he will need a lot of work and time IMO. Obviously some skills there but a gamble on greatness for sure. He worries me as a passer pretty much in every aspect except pure arm strength Also, very worrisome that he couldn’t win the #2 QB slot at Auburn before he transferred
