All of them. The Kingslayer is locked and loaded. But in all seriousness we could get a couple more wins. If the defense continues to generate turnovers, we can win off of a run-first offense. We won't win a shoot out, but our division is pretty crappy and realistically we could beat any of our division opponents. Dallas and Arizona are possible. I don't see us beating KC or Philly, but I didn't see us winning even another game before NO, so...

It seems that the story of the day was really turnovers (which are sometimes mistakes, sometimes just great plays)
-
He's definitely playing better. At this point I just want to see improvement every week. But I don't want us going into next season with him as our primary option unless that weekly improvement really accelerates.
-
So I missed the first half and only came in for the fourth - how was BY in the first half?
-
Well if nothing else hopefully this game puts the "we should pick up Daniel Jones!" Nonsense to bed.
-
Kingslayer, baby
-
If only we could play college teams, our QB might look exceptional again
-
So trying to reboot Bridgewater, Darnold, and Mayfield's careers weren't enough... Now we're pushing for Daniel Jones? Ergh. If he's cheap while we develop a rookie, fine. But I have no interest in building around another team's reject. We have our own rejects to build around

I'm not really getting Lamar Jackson vibes from watching Ward, tho he is very dynamic and exciting too. He just doesn't seem as athletic / elusive. But I'm pretty much just watching highlights, so I could be wrong. I don't think he needs to be Lamar to be real successful from what I'm seeing tho.

For sure - he was not (is not?) ready or capable to adjust to NFL defenses and speed, and our offense last year didn't help him (nor did he help them!). We'll see how that changes the rest of the season but my biggest fear is he delivers a few more back-up worthy performances, and we somehow think he's our long term solution. But I don't think his failures are work ethic related... Maybe I'm wrong. I suspect we'll know more when he's gone some day.

It's definitely a trend, see Carr and Rodgers, Cousins, too. But multiple of those teams also drafted a young QB to groom. And as you highlighted the trend isn't really leading yet to sustained post season success.

BREAKING:Panthers re-sign Chuba Hubbard
mav1234 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I get that concern - but I think that concern about a 2nd on Brooks is the same if we pay Chuba this or not. I think Brooks is a long term future investment. Chuba is for now and the next few years. Ideally Brooks is worked back slowly and by having both you limit wear and tear. It's also a matter of value - if Brooks was far and away their highest rated player on their board, it makes sense to take him. The way we use RBs I'm very excited to see Brooks in the offense at full speed, but if he's what a lot of us hope, we'll want to make sure we don't run him into the ground in the longer term, too. -
Yes, yes I am. Have you seen the dude physically? I mean he's just lacking in every physical aspect of the game. The one area he has any success is throws with crazy anticipation. Because that's the only way he can compete passes much past the LoS.

Edit: woops misread Even with their current stats the rookies are really contributing on O. It's really good to see
-
Man it really sucks we won! Things went so well for us last time we had the #1 draft pick!!!
-
Ehh the Saints allow 8 fewer ppg than we do... They're terrible too tho. Maybe BY will have a career as a back up if he can keep improving but the elation over his game is a little much.
-
Bryce played one of his better games at QB, I think he was substantially better than his stat line. However, that basically puts him at "backup" level... For one game. He isn't the future, but he is the present, so I sure hope he can improve on this game.

Canales is coaching for draft position. Nothing else makes sense

Congratulations to former Panthers RB Deshaun Foster

Good for Deshaun! -
It's impossible to say if he would have looked elite... I guess if you're saying he wouldn't be in the discussion of one of the best QBs in the league with us, probably true, lol, but I think he'd probably still show that talent. We don't know how that offense runs with CJ... Dalton made it look pretty decent in his one start. I doubt that CJ has the season he had with the Texans, but he also elevated Nico Collins a ton and took a journeyman in Noah Brown to his highest YPR of his career (4 more than any other year before it).

What would a successful game for Young look like?
mav1234 replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean putting aside the fact that at this point any completion past the line of scrimmage from him feels like an accomplishment... Running an offense that can move the ball down the field. On target throws to different levels downfield. Ideally showing some playmaking ability, but also finding the open man. I don't really care about specific stats with Bryce. -
Dan Graziano: Panthers will trade Diontae Johnson
mav1234 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I was fine with slightly overpaying Johnson until he started to clearly quit and somewhat throw teammates under the bus. I don't blame him for the frustration but it doesn't mean it endears me to him. -
Darnold has been streaky before, but I hope he's fixed his decision making issues. Dude has a lot of talent, the problem was always between his ears. Talk about a comeback if he keeps this up, damn As to Dalton, makes you realize just how much trouble BY has been having in the NFL. Maybe some day BY will have his own redemption story, but for now, it's Red Rifle time.
-
Bryce Young had one good football game. Take that away, and you have maybe 2-3 NFL-level throws per game. Not elite or amazing throws; just NFL-level. He had maybe a handful across the entire season of plays that made me go "Damn, that was a great play." QBs with a lot of talent find ways to shine even on bad teams. BY just didn't. Has a QB ever come back from such a disastrously bad start to his career?
