Who is your way too early mid-round draft crush?
ForJimmy replied to BeenPounding's topic in Carolina Panthers
To be clear I’m not against drafting a TE. I just prefer not to draft one with a very similar skillset as the one we already have, but again I won’t be upset if we do. -

Yeah I’d prefer to work on our 1000 other needs, but I’m not too passionate one way or another. -

So drafting another mid round one fixes what? -

I kind of like Tremble out of the backfield as a FB type role. You are right thought we never really developed him. -

Seems a little redundant with JT Sanders here. It would be ideal to have a TE that is a skilled blocker to pair with him IMO. -
https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/gamelog/_/id/4685472/tetairoa-mcmillan Anyone is welcome to look up his per game stats. It was a weak schedule and teams like Utah and Colorado shut him down. He went 7 straight games without a score. I’m just saying he isn’t quite on the same level Evans was coming out. That’s not really an insult.

Check out the game by game breakdowns this past year for TMac. He feasted on bad competition like UNM with 304 yards and 4 TDs then went 7 straight games without a TD. He broke 100 receiving yards in 5 of the 12 games he played. The only concern I have is him disappearing in some games. One report is he was playing hurt and I know his QB play was pretty bad. He just isn't as strong of a prospect as Evans was IMO. That doesn't mean he won't be great in the NFL.

So after Richards and Williams we are back to having no center?

In our 3-4 I think it’s Wallace and Jewell. If we get Shaq back on a cheap deal then I’m sure he is part of the equation as well.

This has got to be worst coaching cycle in years

I remember laughing at Washington last year for getting “stuck” with Quinn. They have the last laugh now. Always good to wait and see with coaching hires. -
Nate Carroll was our Passing Game Coordinator.

Denver NT DJ Jones. Potential FA target
ForJimmy replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Most defenses are hybrids anymore being ran out of nickel the most honestly. Players like Clowney and Wonnum can line up as DEs or OLB. The NT is important but so is the run stuffing DT in the 4-3. If Star when down for us back in our 4-3 days we would feel it badly as well. Honestly Star helped keep Luke free as well and let him truly dominate. He was crucial to our defense. -
Yeah McLaurin is on a different level than AT. McLaurin has broken 1000 yards 5 years in a row and only didn’t his rookie year where he broke 900 so 5/6 of his years he broke 1000. I think AT broke 1000 3 out of 11 years… One is younger and just plain better. Not trying to take from Daniels though. He is a rookie phenom with loads of talent.

Dan Quinn- Meet the Candidate- Part 5 of 12
ForJimmy replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
Is Quinn the reason they put up 45 on the Lions? Is Quinn the reason they have a rookie phenom QB? Seems similar to the Falcons where the Niners took Shanny and Quinn quickly started looking like Rivera. Also I’m pretty sure we were asked to stop bumping these old threads… -
Yeah his rating isn’t much better. It’s also not that simple. It depends on when the passes were made and who was designed to pick up the coverage. PFF doesn’t seem to have a way of deciphering it (which would be really hard to do.)
-
Honestly bad safety play is to blame IMO. We had safeties reacting too slowly or missing their assignments in which Horn was chasing after their guy.

Dane Brugler picks for Rd 1 and Rd 2.
ForJimmy replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hell he had over 900 yards his rookie year. That’s before they had Chase and Burrow only played like half the year.. -
Shy Tuttle is a depth/rotational DE IMO. He has no business being our NT and probably should be relieving DB and Robinson but his contract doesn’t match that role…
-
Those are equally annoying. Stroud seems to be a genuinely good person, is best friends with our QB, and has earned everything he has. Inspiring person and one of the better young QBs in the league. People wanting him to fail are wanting to justify our pick. It’s better and easier to move on from that.

And when Bryce corrected some of these flaws he recognized it. You typically don’t see that kind of maturity from us fans.
-
I have to give some serious props to you. You were very critical of Bryce when he was playing terrible (rightfully so) and are praising him now that he is playing good. You are one of the few people that doesn’t seem to have an original opinion that they are hesitant to change. You are literally watching him play through unbiased eyes and making honest assessments each time. It’s a rare thing to see and I enjoy reading it.

Bryce Young can have a breakout season in 2024

Heads up that is pretty much a troll account. He rambles about nonsense.., -
I saw one interesting trade proposal that had our first for GW and their 2nd and 3rd. I would be ok with this.
