Nobody disagrees with having competition
-
I don't know if he's the future yet, but I'm still hopeful. I do know there's way too much imbalance in the discourse. He's compared to other quarterbacks so it's only fair to remember just how bad this roster has been.
-
And your dedication to turn every thread into an anti Bryce tirade is exemplary, even the ones that have nothing to do with Bryce.
-
Imagine you're a rookie and this is what they surround you with in addition to a terrible offensive line. Of course you'll be terrible. Thielen was his only reliable receiver.
-
Diontae Johnson DJ Chark Jonathan Mingo Terrace Marshall Laviska Shenault Ihmir Smith Marsette Hayden Hurst With Bryce they had combined for 127 rec, 1317 yds, 5 TD Combined stats after Bryce 21 rec, 163 yds, 0 TD But yeah Bryce is the problem for not being a good enough point guard.

100% there’s underwear olympics and there’s football speed. Jerry Rice’s 40 yd dash was reportedly 4.71 but he cooked defensive backs and got behind them regularly. Coker ran a 4.57 which is decent
-
Coker leads the team in YAC, JT is average, but all others are relatively poor

CYA? That’s a bit rich, you try to paint everyone who’s not out on Bryce yet as some blind supporters who wanted the trade. I didn’t even want Bryce but I am not going to blindly hate on him when I have seen what he can do. I am able to completely ignore that we gave up the farm for him and just evaluate him for here and now. -

Not sure who you mean by this, I agree it's a terrible trade and have always said that. At the same time, as someone who went to business school I understand the concept of a sunk cost. You have to ignore what you paid for Bryce and evaluate him for what he is or could be going forward and whether that fits your strategic plans for the organization. -

Ironically, you would've been crucifying Stroud for being a bust if the Panthers drafted him -

I'm talking about last year. Most QBs are ruined as rookies -
We have to go best available, regardless of position. Too many holes to fill but I'm guessing at 4 it's Travis Hunter (who interestingly would help both WR and CB if he can play both). Position 5 or below it'll be a Defensive Lineman or Edge.

You think Thielen is a YAC weapon or something?

Yes he would have been ruined here. No weapons and a terrible offensive line. I wish we picked Stroud, that was my pick, but the trade itself is horrible because it sets up the team to fail -
Here you go, YAC/Cmp is almost identical, slightly even worse with Dalton

Sounds about right. Even if Bryce turns out to be a franchise QB the trade still was terrible. Even if they picked Stroud it was terrible -
Not buying it, it was the same with Dalton. It’s the passing scheme and receiver combination. There’s nobody on this team that can take a 5, 10 or 15 yard pass, make people miss and take it to the house. When Bryce is hitting them even downfield they’re almost always tight windows and are tackled immediately.
-
Deebo Samuel, Kittle, Aiyuk, Jennings and an offensive guru who knows how to scheme guys open. Even without CMC he has weapons. None of our receivers or tight ends would have sniffed the field on 49ers except for old man Thielen. Purdy would look like Turdy in Carolina
-
Exhausting because it’s true. Coker play is the exception. Take a look at the rankings, all passing leaders get much higher YAC per completion Bryce has underachieved but you can’t say the scheme and weapons have been conducive to success. I don’t think any of these QBs do much better in same circumstances
-
Haha exactly, imagine Brock Purdy in this offense with these weapons, especially last year with Thielen, Mingo, Chark and a crap OL
-
Bo Nix yep Of the 263 yards, 200+ for YAC. Just shows stats are misleading
