Chris Simms: Jalon Walker is the most overrated player in the draft
NAS replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you’re depending on a defensive scheme to justify a pick, chances are that player is not worth the top 10 pick a true talent can shine in any scheme -
Interesting segment about Panthers being in a potential sweet spot for trading down. In his comments, Chris Simms suggests that Jalon Walker is the most overrated player in the draft and that they should trade down because Abdul Carter is the only elite prospect. That seems a bit harsh but I have to admit Jalon does scare me as a potential bust and I would rather trade down and pick up a guy that maybe didn't have the production but has a more typical NFL size as a pass rusher. https://www.nbcsports.com/watch/nfl/profootballtalk/carolina-panthers-open-to-trading-down-if-team-wants-to-jump-before-saints

God forbid this is the way the Draft shakes out

If the choice isn't obvious and there's someone you really like who is projected to be available later then you trade down -
I will be disappointed with anything less than 8 wins this year

BPA only makes sense if you're on a loaded roster. Way too many holes for Panthers to not also focus on need. That said, you have to take into account both value and depth of that specific position in the draft -
Watch the Eagles draft him and get even scarier on defense. He’s even better than Abdul Carter

Can we hire Hurney just to make pick #8? -

In short, Cowboys are really good in the draft but terrible in free agency or retaining their own talent.

People are debating this? This is an awesome signing. He’s 26 and just racked up a 1,000 yd season. Cowboys are dumb -
Should I be embarrassed that I didn’t even know he was on the team?

If he can stay healthy, well worth the investment. We also need him to follow their top receive more but not sure if that's really possible in Evero's scheme -
I think our pursuit of DK in the trade signals more urgency for finding a #1 WR instead of by committee. I'm thinking the likelihood of drafting McMillan just increased significantly.
