Just heard on NFL Radio that there may be a deal in place for HOU to trade #2 to NE for Mac Jones. I’d think the Patriots would have to throw in a lot more for that trade to happen.
-
Which really makes my point even more. The question then becomes, and the question I am asking is, “why do so many physical traits guys who coaches try to coach up on the mental side bust”? May suggest the mental side is not so easy to coach up, especially at NFL speeds.
-
If your argument is that the mental side can be coached, why have more QBs with the physical traits not had success? Josh Allen is really an anomaly. There have been far more guys with the physical traits but lacking the mental aspect bust than they have turned into a QB like Josh Allen. Are you saying that all of those busts simply had professional coaching staffs who just weren’t able to coach up the mental side? Wouldn’t the simplest explanation be that maybe it is not so easy to coach up the mental side?

CJ Stroud Film Breakdown Megathread
Bama Panther replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not at all. I hope whoever the Panthers select (Young, Stroud, AR, Levis) succeed. If they pick the guy I like (leaning Young but I am inherently biased as a Bama grad), great. If they don’t, that’s also great. I’ll trust the Panthers picked whoever they thought is best for their system, and I’ll hope that man, whoever it is, lives up to the pick. -
CJ Stroud Film Breakdown Megathread
Bama Panther replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
No, because most who want Young will willingly accept Stroud if that is the Panthers brass decides to pick. Many in the Stroud crew will not accept Young if he is the pick. They’ll piss and moan about the pick. They’ll secretly hope he fails. They’ll gloat the first time he’s injured. All so they can be right over their team having a franchise QB. -

It wouldn’t be #2 and #12 for #1, like some posters here seem to think. It’s not like Houston is trading up from #7 to #1. It’s a single spot, and I don’t think Houston will part with another first for that.

New trade down theory coming out of League circles

And the same number of QBs that will be drafted before pick #9. -

When you’re worried about the perception of your state, what better way to class things up than telling someone to eat your ass, “dingleberries and all”? -
Why we won't get the #1 pick
Bama Panther replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
I haven’t read through this entire thread, but Chicago really has the chance to make out like bandits in this draft. It merely takes trading down to #2 with Houston and then playing Indy to trade down to #4. The Bears still get one of the top defensive guys and get several more picks to build out their roster. -
PFF Top 100 Free Agents and their projected contract
Bama Panther replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
$52M per year projected for Lamar. $40M per projected for Geno. $40M projected for Daniel Jones. These QB contracts are getting insane. -
Where’s Kevin Costner when you need to turn a #9 pick into a #1 pick and a #7 pick?

These refs suck so bad.

I’m late to the party concerning the Cotton Bowl. It came on very early this morning here in Korea, so I only just caught the second half during the AFN replay. What a great game, but what a lousy group of officials! They got nearly every huge call wrong (the non-catch by the USC receiver that was called a catch, the no targeting when the defender very clearly lowered his helmet and made contact with the crown, the completion to win the game that was called an incompletion with such zeal). The zebras in that game absolutely sucked.

David Tepper is keen on Will Levis
Bama Panther replied to Chris Smitty's topic in Carolina Panthers
Tepper just can’t win for losing with most of y’all. You bitch about Tepper hiring Rhule who turned out to suck, and then you bitch about Tepper telling Rhule he needed to make some changes because, you know, he sucks. You’re right. It is ludicrous for an owner to tell his sucky coach to suck less. Sheesh. Nevermind the guy has over a billion dollars invested in this team. -
I don’t get the incessant need to spout “the Panthers suck.” It’s like people cannot see the difference in the team now and the team under Rhule. The team under Rhule sucked (1-4 record). The team under Wilkes does not suck (5-5 record). Denver sucks. Arizona sucks. Chicago sucks. Houston sucks. Despite its shortcomings, the current Panthers team is not great, maybe average, but they don’t suck.

That team that "had absolutely no business being there" won their first round matchup and lost to the NFC's representative in the Super Bowl that year. Not sure how that equates to having "absolutely no business being there."
-
Kirby is 1-4 against Saban. I wouldn’t necessarily call that having Saban’s number, but I definitely think UGa has the better team right now.
-
Even as a Bama grad, I concur with this. Would I love Bama to sneak in to get a shot at the championship? Absolutely. Do I think they should? Nah.
-
You know what? You’re right. That must’ve been why the replay officials didn’t buzz the field for a review. They only do that for close calls.
-
I can see that, but I think it was pretty clear that the DB’s crown hit Rising right in the facemask.
-
The PAC 12 does not want USC to lose. Not sure how that wasn’t deemed targeting when the crown of the helmet was the first thing to hit the QB’s facemask.
