  1. Based on the way some fans here talk about Bryce, it would be really hard to conclude that they want him to succeed here. As far as your zero-sum comment, it works both ways. Just because the Panthers passed on Stroud, it doesn’t mean they are “set back for a decade” or other such comments. Admittedly, Stroud should have absolutely been the pick. Bitching and moaning about the fact the Panthers passed on him and making snide comments about the guy who will, at least, be the Panthers’ QB for one more year accomplishes what exactly? That’s what I don’t get.
  2. I have a question for the folks still touting Stroud (and yes, it is obvious that he should have been the pick). However, as a fan of the Panthers, why does it give you all joy/happiness/whatever to continually pump up a player on another team while degrading your team’s starting QB? It truly is like you all want Bryce to fail just so you can be “proven right” on who you wanted. The picks have been made. There is no changing what has been done. Is your being “proven right” for wanting Stroud worth more to you than the guy you don’t want, hopefully, turning the corner and figuring this thing out?
  3. Awful clock management there by the Ravens. Wasted 40+ seconds by not kicking the field goal on 2nd or 3rd down. You need two scores, dependent upon a successful onside kick. Better to have 50 seconds to score a TD than 15. As I type this, Steelers recover the onside kick. The point remains on the timing though.
  4. The article you linked very clearly states the Colts, not the NFL, suspended Tressel.
  5. The interesting piece is that the ACC and PAC 12 were two conferences that voted against the 12 team playoff this year. If they had voted for it, PAC 12 would have had two teams in with the ACC at least having FSU in.
  6. In this Top 4, head-to-head means absolutely nothing. If Georgia were better than Bama, they would have won the SECCG.
  7. I totally understand what you are saying in regards to this Bama team not being anywhere near the Bama teams of the past decade-plus. However, they had one loss in the SEC and beat the team that has held the #1 ranking for the past two seasons. I think that places them directly in the conversation for the playoffs. On the other hand, I also feel FSU got robbed. If Travis were healthy, Bama would have been left out, and I would have been fine with that. Maybe Bama wasn’t the best option for a playoff spot, but they weren’t “undeserving” of that spot based on record, strength of schedule, conference title, and health of players.
  8. “Undeserving”? Beat the #1 team in the SECCG. Only loss is to the #3 team. Just took the #1 seed to OT in the Rose Bowl Game, but was “undeserving”?
  9. This TX-WA game is going to be a barn burner, I think.
  10. Thanks, but I’m too old to let losses in football games affect me. I enjoy the ebb and flow of emotion during the game, but once it’s over (win or lose), my life goes on unaffected.
  11. I’m not just talking Bryce though. Jalen Hurts, Tua, Mac Jones, Bryce…Bama fans trusted that they were going to make big plays when needed. It’s not the same feeling with Jalen Milroe.
  12. If they had a QB who could make, and throw to, hot reads, they would have won. Milroe does not do that well at all.
  13. I’m telling you, as a Bama fan, Milroe just doesn’t instill the confidence of heir recent QBs, and that’s because he is not a great passer. Take the deep ball away from him, and he has trouble. Michigan did that well today and won. On the other hand, Bama’s D was awful today when the game was on the line. How many times can you get beat by the crossing routes that leave a guy in the flats?
  14. I truly hope Bama finds another QB. There is no way Milroe should have thrown the ball 23 times and rushed the ball 21 times (I know the sacks count), especially when McClellan was running for 6 yards a clip.
  15. Terrible. I’m not sure it was supposed to be a QB run. I think Milroe just tried to do it. Edit: Okay. It was a designed QB run. Still an awful play call in that situation.
  16. With Cam Ward declaring for the draft, I don’t know where that help will come from. However, they did just sign a 5 star QB in this class.
  17. I agree with this sentiment. I want to be a Milroe fan, as he is the QB of my alma mater. However, he doesn’t instill the confidence that Tua and Bryce did.
  18. That’s Milroe for you. Misses easy throws fairly regularly.
  19. That’s the solace for Bama fans. They’ve played about as poorly as they could play, and after the muffed punt, Michigan has played about as well as they could. To be down only 3 at this point is a huge win. We will see what adjustments are made after halftime. If Saban and company don’t have an answer for the pass rush, Michigan is going to win this one.
  20. Pass rush is absolutely an issue. I’m not a big fan of Bama’s OC. Why not toss a screen in there to slow the psd rush down a bit? I also think Milroe is in his own head a bit. He’ll settle down, but it may take a bit.
  21. No one’s “getting a bag” for having a drink thrown on them.
  22. Blue over white is my second favorite combo, trailing only black over silver.
  23. How do FOX’s graphics suck so bad in 2023? See, No Place Like Home animation.
  24. He could be better than Saban. At the age of 48, Saban was going into his last season at Michigan State before leaving for LSU, where he won his first national championship. Kirby is already at a premier program with two National Championships already under his belt. He has perennial top 2-3 recruiting classes, and he is at his alma mater. He is set up for great success.
  25. Kirby will have Georgia at or near the top of college football for a loooong time. At his age (48), he could have another good 15-20 years in him.
