  1. If he stays healthy both seasons and still plays at a high level, it's a moot point and will end up working well for Trey. If he has a serious injury this year, he's screwed. He won't get a franchise tag and he will get a small 1 year deal after he recovers
  2. Hopefully we can find some better upgrades on waivers to replace DJ, Evans, Crumedy, and backup ILB
  3. Agreed. Once we decided to not trade away AT, it makes sense that Renfrow was expendable.
  4. No, but I do think he would have been used in a similar role of a zone buster slot that can run quick routes or option routes. That NFL experience of knowing man vs zone coverage and knowing where to sit against Cover 2 vs. 3 vs. 4 vs. 6/9 Don't think he was starting over Coker, but he would have definitely been next in line at slot had we of traded AT away.
  5. Good. If we are going to suck, lets at least get younger while sucking
  6. Good call. Figured it was between Renfrow and Horn for the last WR spot. Horn is not playing a meaningful snap this year unless we have 2+ receivers get injured - possibly 3 because I wouldn't be surprised if Tremayne is ahead of him. I think the only reason Horn (and Moore) are on the roster is for their special teams usefulness.
  7. Just goes to show you we don't need 5th round picks or worse from the Vikings. We have a better success rate with UDFAs than 5th-7th round picks. Not sure to be happy or sad about that though
  8. Jesus... Guess we had to find a new Ian Thomas replacement after finally letting his sorry ass go
  9. Glad we kept Tremayne. I think another team would have signed him had we released him. David Moore, on the other hand, can fug off also
  10. Definitely think the Bengals owner won the battle, unless there was some kind of "you can't franchise tag me next year clause". Gotta expect the Bengals are going to franchise him next year (if Trey stays healthy) for $36 mill. I haven't looked into the contract, but if his entire contract this year is guaranteed, I wonder if he could make up injuries like (my hammy doesn't feel great) and manage to miss out on a few games. If I were him, I would be smart and make sure I avoid getting injured; otherwise he is gonna lose out on a ton of money for his next contract.
  11. Good. Definitely earned it and should honestly be our #4 (unless we get someone better off waivers)
  12. Ummm... The dude looked like he was about 180 pounds soaking wet with us (I don't care what his listed weight was/is) - he would have been destroyed in the run game even more than our current and past crappy ILBs. The problem is we primarily play 3-4 or nickel/dime - there is little room on the field for him because he isnt an edge LB blitzer and he can't cover for crap. The only thing he can do kind of well is be an in-the-box safety that can try and beat blockers to the spot because of his athleticism. Washington was able to make him work last year because they used him solely as an in-the-box safety and almost exclusively ran a single high FS. The funny thing is they had good yards/game stats against the pass despite most of their secondary having embarrassingly low PFF grades. Washington was also terrible against the run, which might explain why they gave up so few yards passing.
  13. Becton turned it around after getting away from the Jets. Notice how a lot of those bad draft picks are from teams that are a revolving door of being a dumpster fire (JAX, CLE, NYJ, LV). I'm honestly surprised we actually didn't F it up also since the Panthers are part of that dumpster fire squad
  14. I hope somebody does. I can then rejoice at a different team wasting a roster spot on him
  15. Hopefully we see DJ Johnson released soon. Get all of these reject draft picks off this team
  16. And was still far and away our best receiver on the field last year when he was healthy...
  17. Not to mention they might finish last in their division with the Lions already being good and an improved Packers and Bears squads
  18. This is where I am at also. Vikings literally have no other receiver outside of Jefferson week 1. I'm pretty sure their slot receiver from last year was pretty awful and they wouldn't mind upgrading with Thielen over nailor. If they aren't going to at least offer us a fourth, then keep them on the team. There will be other teams that have injured receivers that will want him later on in the season
  19. From what Eagles sources said, he apparently looked good in practices during the preseason, just not in the actual preseason games. Think he was stuck playing with the bottom of the barrel players when he did step on the field for the preseason games. If we are intent on having 3 QBs, I would take a chance and sign him. I think the Eagles want him to go unclaimed so they can stash him on their PS
  20. Sure, if by play you mean holding the clipboard for the Panthers and now no longer being signed to an NFL team... Guy was ass in college also Still don't know what blackmail he had on Tepper to be with us this long...
  21. Lol, that is perfect that he was our first player cut. Would have been hilarious if we cut him after the game Thursday, then made no more cuts until Tuesday morning
  22. Looks like the Bears gave him, do I dare say, one of the most major burns possible by cutting him...
