  1. There's debate about rules and their application every year. Add this one to the laundry list.
  2. 2027 is our year boys!!! Only one more year of this crap until the 7-year plan is finally in place. Woo-hoo!!!
  3. As I said yesterday, even if we squeak into the playoffs it's just a moral victory as this team is not built for the long haul of a deep postseason run.
  4. Yeah, the acting at the end of the play was extra and cringe worthy, but the play itself was indeed illegal. Our QB tried an acting job earlier in the game and got our LT a personal foul. Bryce totally flopped on the sideline trying to draw the foul, but fooled Ickey instead the refs. Dumb move by Ickey, but he did try to stick up for his QB.
  5. The play was to get extra yards to make the FG kicker's job easier and keep the ball in the middle of the field. We left the middle of the field wide open to defend the sidelines. It was a smart call. Not sure if that was the original play or check when Shough saw all that open real estate right in front of him, but you have to give kudos to whomever made that decision. Also, I doubt they have a play called "QB run-draw a personal foul" in their playbook.
  6. I'm sure the Saints, who swept us btw, are completely fine with Bryce Young scrambling around and vying as our top rusher for the game as long as the actual rushing attack is shut down. I guess "juking" Bryce really showed them.
  7. I'm on the other side of this. TEACH the slide. If a QB doesn't want the contact, teach them the proper way to slide. It's not difficult to learn, but there is only one way to do it correctly. Bryce's "slide" looked more like a drunk at 2AM about to hit he deck after that last call shot of tequila.
  8. I guess the team took the Saints lightly and everyone went on vacation on the bye week. I couldn't tell they put in any work over the break.
  9. Ransom didn't have to square him up like that. Dude had a reputation in college as a big hitter. He could have eased up or rolled off the tackle. Ransom choose the big hit, probably trying to dislodge the ball. I get the logic in a different scenario, but horrible situational awareness considering the circumstances.
  10. That is why he's been actually able to run scrambles for the past few games because teams don't fear him as a runner and sure as hell don't fear him for a QB sneak. So yeah, no team is spying him to keep him in containment if plays break out of structure.
  11. But yet we want to whine about Bryce's supposed late hit that was clearly not one. No part of his body was touching the turf other than his two feet at the point of contact. Not to mention the hit was in his chest and the tackler rolled off the hit.
  12. Clearly he's already down in this pic. What's the debate?
  13. Correct, Bryce simply 'shrunk' as he was about to be hit whereas Shough clearly was in the act of sliding. Sliding correctly means you get horizontal as quickly as possible, extending a leg while falling on your hip/backside. Even if you thought Bryce's hit was slightly late, it wasn't violent. Shough's hit was a kill shot even if that wasn't the intent...it definitely looked that way.
  14. You're right, that dominant game was in Atlanta, not Charlotte. My point still stands, venue typo aside.
  15. There's enough blame to go around today, for sure, but my contention all along is Bryce is never going to be one of those franchise QBs that can regularly put a team on his back especially when these types of sloppy games are unfolding. He needs a complete team effort, including himself, for a victory. Even then 99.9% of the time it's a one score squeaker of a victory. To date for his career, Bryce has had one, exactly 1, convincing victory and that was the Falcons game in Atlanta earlier this season. That was a unicorn game where the Panthers could do no wrong and the Falcons did everything wrong.
  16. We didn't lose because of Bryce today, but he didn't do enough to help us win either. Being better than completely shitting the bed is a mindset we have to get beyond. We've been horrible for so long now that mediocre QB play is looking sexy to some of you guys.
  17. The Saints defense has held opposing offenses to 17 or less points only 3 times this year, the Giants and us twice. Outside of the Giants, why is this the only offense that can't drop more than 17 on the Saints defense? Hmmm...
  18. Are you serious? I'd take Herbert or Nix over Bryce any day of the week and twice on Sundays!
  19. So if the Panthers win, Bryce is the star and when Panthers lose Bryce can't overcome the refs, and inept staff/teammates? Got it.
  20. We are 50% of the Saints wins this season. If they turn around and lose to the freaking Jets next week....
  21. At this point we are at a fork in the road and we are going to have to choose between these two options. Option a) Pay Bryce Young franchise QB money and let other key pieces walk when their contracts are up because this ain't professional baseball, salary caps actually matter or b) Continue to build other key spots on the roster and draft a QB or get a reasonably priced QB in FA. I hope we choose option B.
  22. Meanwhile the 40th player overall taken this draft (yes, a rookie QB) swept the #1 overall pick in his 3rd season with an inferior offense.
  23. Dude, the Saints had 9 penalties. We had two more than they did. Hardly lopsided.
