  1. No, if I'm being 100% honest... And anyone can search it to verify it - I was one of the first and very few, if not only, people on here to vouch for Gano while Mare was here. I was also adamant I did not want Mare when we signed him... I followed and watched Gano since college and quite a bit with WSH, so I wanted us to go get him when he was available. And I loved him those first few years... but, he did the struggle the last year or so, and he had become inconsistent enough that I felt we should move on. He missed a enough clutch kicks that he didn't feel reliable anymore, and that season opener miss against Denver is 16 was the beginning of the end. It felt like time to move on. Slye looked like a young kicker with huge potential and an even bigger leg than Gano, so I was fine moving on. He just seemed broken. And he honestly had never been as consistent as he has been now with NY. No one could've predicted this. He was great at one point for us, but not like this. This is Vinatieri level good. It sucks. Kicker is a fickle position. I mentioned Mare, and funny enough, he was considered one of the league's best when he was with the Dolphins... by the time he got to us, he was absolutely horrible. Gano was struggling here, now he's amazing. Slye was struggling here, then goes out and makes every kick in his debut with the Texans. John Kasay was a 78% kicker with Seattle before we got him our inaugural season, and he ended up being a career 82% kicker with us. Kickers are hard to figure out... and the thing is, if we had just made the move to Butker, none of this would be an issue, no matter how Gano has done since. We just made every wrong move we could make at the position.
  2. I really, REALLY hope Moton can go and this is just precautionary. We need him out there every week... that being said, if he weren't able to play, Rhule can't use the conditioning crap as a reason to not play BC, and then once that toothpaste is out of the tube, there ain't no putting it back... so, hopefully we won't have to cross that bridge yet, but I'm looking for a silver lining.
  3. Agreed, I just wanted to find something negative and fake rage. I can't wait for Jaycee to get his first pick in a game.
  4. Haven't we been a middling to lower-end team in forced turnovers since then?
  5. It's fun looking back and seeing so many people who bashed me for being reactionary and emotional about how bad Gettleman was, now passionately admit just how bad he was. Dude is one of the biggest egomaniac the world of football has ever seen... possibly the world has ever seen. He always had to show everyone how alpha he was, how smart he was, how much of a boss he was... and he wasn't any of those things. Just a scared, flabby man desperately seeking out validation and recognition. And so many here defaulted to the "well, he's better than Hurney, because he's a 'football guy.'" Tuh! Should've stuck to being a P.E. coach. Also, Hurney sucked. But, Gettleman single-handedly set our franchise back 8-10 years with his little dick, ego-based moves. I will always despise his memory. I also bask in my prediction when the Giants hired him (which can be found on this board), that he was going to gut them of their core pieces like Beckham, and sure enough... L-O-L. He's imploding that organization as we speak, and should be unemployed shortly. Rightfully so. And as far as the tie, it just shows how dysfunctional our organization has always been. How tf the GM makes a decision like that and the coach allows it? And again, it's another powermonger, dickless move by Gettleman.. my goodness, that man was an absolute cancer.
  6. The NFL's clean up crew. Torbet, Hochuli (the younger one now), and Blakeman are their crews who love to screw us.
  7. Tbh, at some point these stats intersect, overlap, and make no sense whatsoever lol. Quinnen Williams was held to a low PFF grade, but we had the worst pass block win rate in the league. I can't credit Elflein, he looks bad. And I believe in Daley, but he didn't look great Sunday either. I honestly think we just schemed around the pressure and got the ball out as quick as possible which resulted in the negative grades for the Jets DL. Now, as far as their OL, they are actually really good. So, I think their poor performance was more because our DL and LBs were that good. Problem is, I think the Saints line is even better, so we have our work cut out for us. Brightside is, I feel like a lot of those sacks Wilson escaped from last week, Winston won't this week. Winston can move, but he's not elusive... if Burns or Reddick gets to him, he is going down.
  8. Good, because coincidentally enough, I noticed he was pretty limited on Sunday too. Glad the coaching staff is noticing.
  9. Ok, I've given him credit for player development and as an in-game tactician, but Rhule is starting to piss me off with this. Why can't we just get a coach who plays the best player? PERIOD. EVER. It's so frustrating. Anyone with an inkling of football knowledge knows the guys in front of him are not good at their job, and he was impressive in the preseason when he played. So, start him, and let Scott and the other versatile guy be the backups in case you need them. He did this same poo with starting Chris Reed's sorry ass all year last season. It just gets old...
  10. I wonder how this is even calculated though? Wouldn't this correlate with an enormous amount of pressures and sacks? Otherwise...
  11. Well, I understand the point you were making, but I disagree on the count of it being rooted in misogyny, because it's not. As I said, I've made the same jokes about guys as well... And plenty women have felt and expressed the same thing about the Kardashians. Also, I agree my opinion on how she expresses her sexuality is just that, and she has no obligation to live up to my or anyone else's standards - but that doesn't change my opinion in her specific case. Other than that, I recuse myself from further discussing them in this thread and my apologies.
  12. I have always appreciated your posts and you as a poster here, Floppin, but it's not that serious, man. Not to derail this thread, but I just as easily could flip that into a joke about a male, as in, "he's been through more teams than my dad has hookers." (Probably not factual by the way, my dad had to smash at least 10). Secondly, I agree, everyone enjoys sex, and no, they should not be shamed for the fact that they enjoy it - it's a natural human need and desire. I'm not shaming her for that, what that "joke" was focusing on was her commodifying her sexuality and promiscuity in order to get fame, fortune, and whatever else she wanted while at the time, not having any discernible talent. She used her sexuality and promiscuity to chase a check. It has nothing to do with misogyny. I've been happily married for going on 20 some years. Women are God's most incredible creation and if you have ever witnessed a woman give birth, it is the most awe-inspiring display of strength and beauty that one being can imagine. There is no feat of strength comparable to it... women should be held up as the marvel that they are. That being said, there's a difference between having some class about you and cheapening a natural component of human needs by using men repeatedly as tools to get what you want because of their notoriety and net worth when you are the gatekeeper of said needs. And again, it doesn't come from a place of misogyny. I have numerous female family members and friends who feel the same way about her. There's plenty of men and women celebrities throughout the history of entertainers who were notoriously promiscuous, but they carried themselves with some class. She's not one of them, and almost all of the men she attached herself to for her own gain were ruined during or after being associated with that family. And on the flipside, how many people have made jokes about guys like Antonio Cromartie and Shawn Kemp for their promiscuity? I know I have. Again, sorry to derail, but I had to clarify. Back to sorry ass kickers.
  13. Well, even if Eberle is better (which i doubt), he can't be elevated to the active roster until 4 weeks from now. So, Zane is it for the next month.
  14. We had that guy in camp last year too, I believe. And he was cut. You can't make this up. It was Kyere Vedvik (sp?). Difference in this situation is we should be fairly familiar with Verity because he played college in-state and we saw him during a week of joint practices and he was lights out during our game.
  15. Did they catch Verity torturing small animals during the joint practices or something? I just don't get it. We released a guy with a better FG percentage despite his struggles, field a guy in week 1 who hit the upright in the preseason and then missed an XP in week 1 while playing against another kicker we cut in the preseason who turned into an all-world punter, only to release the guy we started to sign a guy we cut in the offseason who has been a trainwreck as a pro and has been on as many teams as Kim K has been on penises.
  16. Awesome game. Feel bad for Lamar, and that was an incredible throw by Carr. Just wow.
  17. I've really started to feel Perryman only signed with us because it was the best deal available to him and then drug ass once he had to report and embellished injuries so he could go elsewhere. It sucks, but I just find it interesting that he suddenly saw the light when it came to vaccination once he was dealt. Looks like he's played well tonight... Also, sucks for McCoy. Didnt see the play he injured on, but getting carted off and his expressions combined with how they were treating that leg, it looks like he may be done. It sucks bc I really loved having him here when he was here and would've loved to retain him, but it seems like his body has broken down.
  18. As a strong believer in Thomas when we drafted him, I still don't understand why we retained him and why more of a concerted effort wasn't made to address TE in the offseason. Whether we play Tremble or not, Thomas isn't a very good pro. Period. He has all of the tools, but he just isn't good. But, being that he's here, I hope he had a better season, I'm just not holding my breath. And I really paid attention to his blocking last season and couldn't believe how bad he was for his size. Also, found it interesting that we kept so many TEs (4-5 depending on how you count it) and they literally had like 3 catches for 27 yards yesterday. So much for a security blanket.
  19. Idk, I thought under Rhule/Brady, we would see less of a burden on CMC and more variety with snap distribution among the RBs. It was hard to glean anything from last season bc CMC barely played, but then they came out and said his workload would be lessened going into this season. Then they also made a big deal about drafting Chubba... then we claimed Royce Freeman off waivers, who also has a lot of promise. And then Week 1 happened, and CMC was almost the entirety of the offense, and I only recall him missing 2 or 3 snaps. Now, I know CMC is our most versatile weapon and is an absolute superstar, but the way we're using him just doesn't seem like a sustainable model to me. And at the end of the day, no matter how uniquely talented he is, he still primarily plays RB and running your offense through RBs is a fairly prehistoric notion. Now, CMC's ability as a receiver ensures he can be used in other ways that can still preserve his longevity while still cranking out a ton of production... and this is why I'm curious as to why it seems virtually nothing has changed in how he is being used compared to how he was used under Rivera. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm thankful to have him, and at times it feels he is literally the only guy that can make a play when we need one, so in the biggest moments, we need him out there... but, I am legitimately bothered by the amount of workload we're placing on him and the fact that we aren't seeing anything outside of the box to ensure his longevity - like bringing Chubba or Freeman in the backfield and shifting CMC outside. What are y'all's feeling on this?
