The one time he's actively tried to lose was the best we've ever done.

Post- Training Camp 53-Man Roster Projection
PNW_PantherMan replied to Seltzer's topic in Carolina Panthers
Deontae Johnson and XL were getting open last year. They just couldn't catch the ball. You're making this complicated to make AT fit the container you've made for him. Shorter routes don't need as much separation, because the defense isn't allowed to touch you. If you catch the ball, in 1 on 1 you are basically unstoppable. Ricky Prohel was going dad mode on a bunch of 4-3 defenses 20 years ago. The game has changed so much since then, I don't see how its relevant. -

It's about production. Not about statistical leaders necessarily. And separation doesn't mean as much since its basically 2 hand touch in the secondary now. -

Not sure about that. His PFF grade was 29th overall. I think he finds a significant role on a few teams. A 3rd WR is practically a starter in today's NFL anyways. I agree with your position on AT that we shouldn't have begged him out of retirement. But he's better than you're giving him credit for. The offense would be worse without him. If none of the younger guys take a step it might not even be functional. Is that a good developmental environment? -

Its a free update but Jimmy will appear on the screen and ask you for a dollar anyways. -
Like trying to hit the next Tom Brady by drafting a QB in the 6th every year. Not repeatable.

The Panthers would have to be doing it to make space in the depth chart more than the return coming back. -

He's on the last year of the deal and it would be prorated based on when he's traded during the season. It's not far fetched IMO. A trade around the deadline would put the other team on the hook for about 50% of the cash due. Now what is far fetched is getting more than say a 5th round pick for that. -
2 and its not particularly close. Aisle seat is nice for bathroom access and the goofball proximity is high.

I mean when you consider that you're paying for the obligation to buy Panther tickets at face value...

03 is a lot easier for me to look back and enjoy. Maybe it's just time, but '15 is now 10 years ago and it's not any easier. The 03 team was good, but they were kind of an underdog team. And they lost to the GOAT. The 15 team was fantastic, and we all know what happened there. That's what makes it so painful for to look back for me.

There will always be sour grapes, but the mass majority of the fan base goes with the team.

DJ Johnson, the end of the line

Dwayne Jarrett was good in college. DJ Johnson wasn’t. -
That guy just needs to focus on playing well. Weird energy with that one.

Preseason Panthers v Texans official game day thread

Allar's gotta take a big step this year. I'm doubtful. I'd rather put my money on Nussmeier. -
Agree with everything you said, but he looked pretty bad for most of last season. The Raider game is the outlier. Bryce only got a 2nd chance to start last season because Andy fell off a cliff.
