Peter King has us taking Justin Fields

Nah, when it comes to panthers drafting, I feel like I know more than them and their game plan. Until the current staff proves me wrong I will feel like that. We should have gotten a tackle last year, we should have never drafted Little, and we sure as hell should never have drafted Willy, we shouldnt have Rashaan Gaulden etc, I could go on but you get the idea. I think more times than not we try to be cute with the draft and I am praying Fit doesnt continue the trend. -
Pitts is the proverbial unicorn. I heard an anyalyst today (or was it yesterday?) say he will have more of an impact than randy moss did for minny. There is just no way to guard him. I cannot see Cincy drafting PS over him since they have Reiff and Williams.

If we pick Horn at 8, my prized 2015 signed Panther football me have its case broken and punted into the community pool. I would go ballistic if that happened -
pushes pitts down and pushes sewell down ATL goes qb. Cincy goes Pitts. Fins = Chase. I would either roll the dice with Det picking or flip picks for a 3rd. If not get Slater. Boom. The line is automatically upgraded.

2 months ago I was mentally prepared that at pick 8 we were going to get mac jones. Today I am mentally prepared that I am going to break something of significant value in my house come Thursday night. Maybe its the battered fan syndrome in me but I have a feeling we are going to fug this up just like last year. -

There is no trade amount that would make me not choose Sewell in that scenario. -
Patriots have talked to the Panthers about a draft day trade

Thats the only scenario where I would move back. Unless NE is going to give us like 3 1rsts (which they wont) then for Gods sake stay at 8 and get a high end tackle. -

Unless it's for 3 ones just wait until our pick. No need to do it preemptively -
When the draft experts on this board say that slater is going to be a guard because of his size, they conveniently forget that Slater and Gross are identical in size and Slater is stronger. Both of their games are exactly the same. They are smart effective blockers that are relentless and want to rip your head off

What QB drafted in the last 5 years could go into the exact same set up that SD did and be successful?
-
Darnolds 5th has no bearing on Teddys contract. And there is not a chance in hades we simply cut him.
-
And its not like we were the browns trying to find a qb, we fuging had a generational one on the fuging roster.

I agree 100%. If he looks the part get a deal done. There should be goodwill from both camps as to not do something like Dak and wanting the moon. One good season where everything clicks for both sides should make it easy to do a semi team friendly 5 year ext. I think the threshold for such a deal would be making the playoffs. And damn who knows what happens if he actually wins a game.
-
Because if he plays well he is a free agent and we probably would have to franchise him. A la moton. Then once we franchise he is going to want a market deal which is going to be substantial once the cap moves up. Picking up the option only puts us on the hook for 18ish for the last year. So that gives us two years to figure things out. Gives us breathing room per se. What if he shows improvement but still not there yet. Say 8 wins and improves on all his career numbers. With no 5th year option he is going to want a 5 year deal or just play on the franchise tag. We cannot invest 5 years on one average/above avg year. The 5th option gives us an additional year on a "cheap" deal to evaluate
