  1. If you're seeking productive conversation that terminology isn't going to assist in rational dialogue. I haven't condemned him. I'm for seeing what he has through the rest of camp and into preseason. If he sinks then you leave no stone unturned there will be other kickers available after roster cuts and go from there. We shouldn't be afraid to move quickly.
  2. It could be worse. The Saints didn't even make a playoff appearance for their first 19 years of existence.
  3. Impossible to say who will be good mediocre or great from that group. Could be none. Which would follow the norm for the position as of late. We would all love another young Kasay aside from the Super Bowl gaffe. For right now I'll just settle for stability for a few seasons. Whether it's a UDFA or a vet. I think that's best case scenario for the time being.
  4. If you go up and down the list of GOAT kickers many are undrafted. But that was a different time for football. That was the only point I was making. Not that it was best kicker ever or bust. Anyways I've said all I can idk why some of you are so grumpy about this discussion but carry on.
  5. There's a combination of contributing factors but there just isn’t staying power with the position anymore. But it also doesn’t need to be a situation where it hurts you worse than other teams if it is managed correctly. We'll just have to see how Morgan handles it and how his approach varies from the last several years. But we definitely do need to take a different angle.
  6. Right now looking at how other teams are handling the position if we are lucky we will get a kicker who is competent and reliable enough for two or three years and then reset again. Because there's a lot of fools gold out there too. Guys who will have a brief run over the course of a season and then crash.
  7. In hindsight obviously we should not have traded Butker and it was a glaring boneheaded move but there's also the reality that we haven't done a damn thing competively the last 7 years anyways so
  8. I understand that. But it's simply a different league for the position now. UDFA kickers now versus 20 or 25 years ago just aren't the same. You aren't going to stumble into an undrafted Adam Vinatieri.
  9. Ultimately you have to acknowledge the reality that Fitzgerald is a UDFA. It's still pretty early. When we get to preseason teams will be facing some roster dilemmas and if need be we can snatch up another young kicker. I mean honestly other teams have been facing the same issues the Panthers have with the kicker position. You simply don't see the rock solid cornerstone kickers like you used to anymore aside from a few rare ones. But other teams have managed to navigate similar situations without it becoming a catastrophe. The Panthers just need to follow the lead of those other teams.
  10. This is a developmental season barring a miracle where we make a playoff push. We can resolve kicker next year with our other needs. Probably will end up drafting one.
  11. At what point in time is this statement referring to? Because both seasons there were glaring moments Bryce directly hurt the offense and the team regardless of the pieces around him. Statements like this only create more of the same back and forth interactions here. Bryce finally played up to the standards of an average starting QB and flashed some nice moments to finish the season last year. But there's still a ton of growth we need to see early and throughout the season in order to slam the door shut and declare him a franchise QB. That's all anyone needs to say.
  12. Honestly a very solid fair and well researched breakdown of the Panthers. Kudos to him.
  13. If debating on whether or not David Tepper has met or exceeded the Dan Snyder standard is where we're at then his reputation as an owner is already established and confirmed. But he's wildly wealthy so he doesn’t give a damn regardless. He doesn’t need anyone wasting keystrokes trying to humanize him. He isn't going anywhere and if he does then that just means we're stuck with Nicole. Chuckle and keep walking folks.
  14. While I am concerned about it I don't expect much this year record wise so it isn't like it's going to sink a great season. Give the young guy the keys and let him sink or swim. If we are trending upward by the end of the year then it can be something to directly address in 2026 along with our other needs.
  15. Guys being good humans and doing work in the community is what we should always be seeing. I mean they've been doing things like this for the last 7 or 8 years under Tepper. We did the same things under Richardson. It's fantastic. With all the money in this sport it's the bare minimum they can and should be doing. As far as the locker room and the culture and actually winning football games though that's a different thing entirely and these gestures while heartwarming aren't going to move the needle for that at all. Otherwise we would have more than 7 winning seasons in 3 decades of existence.
  16. Eh. Broader social media is not what I would call fun either. 95% is either an entitled influencer an entitled wannabe sports journalist just trying to go viral or tribal factions of fans trying to own one another over their difference in opinion. Social media is not some utopia of clear thinking and peaceful dialogue head and shoulders better than a place like the huddle.
  17. So what you're saying is your son is a Bryce hater. Or so that's what I've been told here by certain people if someone indicates rational skepticism.
  18. Couple contributing factors. 1. We've been dreadful. 2. We're owned by the Tepper's. 3. Last years fanfest was pretty much the same as far as attendance and overall enthusiasm level. And I distinctly remember the people who did attend and make an effort to watch summarizing it as basically a shitshow. Then we proceeded to rest the starters for all of preseason and got the doors blown off weeks 1 and 2. All of the above is a recipe for what you see. Now if the Panthers look good in preseason and start the season off with some fight and swagger you will see people come back. Right now it just is what it is.
  19. The way some people here speak about the guy you would think he was a first ballot hall of famer. How many other competitive franchises are agonizing over 35 year old WR's? Are the Texans? The oldest WR on their roster is 29. They have two playoff wins in 2 years. Is the goal competing and winning in the postseason or....?
  20. That's true but the reality is even with Mack the teams he's joined haven't won anything of note and certainly haven't sniffed a championship which is what it's all about if you're making trades of that magnitude. As for Parsons talent level he could reach greater heights than Mack though I would personally refrain from mentioning anyone in the same breath as Lawrence Taylor. Different generation different mentality altogether IMO. The league and the world around it is very different now.
  21. At this point I'll just be glad and relieved to see the young guys take over regardless. Nothing against Renfro or Thielen they seem like great guys but the back and forth between these two is just tiring.
  22. The elephant in the room is this is the Panthers we're talking about. Who knows when we're going to be truly competitive again and for how long anyways. And at the end of the day you still need that guy behind center. Teams that traded for Khalil Mack thought they hit the big time. Haven't accomplished anything.
