  1. I miss those early days of hope when he was bullying defensive backs. He is not without blame but he was hit with some awful circumstances in a short time. It is sad to see people continuing to pile on him for his physical appearance all these years later but they are just projecting like many do on social media now.

  2. Butler had the tools he just didn't care to be great or have the tenacity to build a dominant prolonged career. Some guys come into the league looking to create a lifestyle and others want to cement their status in the history books. The timing of the pick couldn't have been worse but the misfires in free agency were ultimately the undoing of any chances the Panthers had at making a final run with that group.

  3. Agonizing over the cost of moving on is akin to crying over spilt milk. It's already happened. This possible outcome was set in stone when he signed on the dotted line. We took a gamble. It didn't work out. The only thing to do now is what is best for the team and the overall trajectory of the upcoming season. If that means removing a possible distraction at a cost then so be it.

  4. Higly coveted college quarterback projected number one overall talks about life after football before his name has been called in the draft and is praised for his values and no one questions what ill intentions may be hiding behind his smile. Trevor Lawrence is certainly blessed with something.

Remember when The Huddle complained about Cam’s protection, or lack there of? What has changed, other than the victim of circumstances?

It was a legitimate complaint but the fact we had a franchise quarterback was the piece that held it all together whether we had a consistent left tackle or not. Do we go 15-1 and appear in super bowl 50 if we took Marcell Dareus instead of a signal caller like many wanted? People are hung up on left tackle because it's been so long since Gross and think we can plug one in and we are done but within the next twelve months we still need a center and there are no guarantees we workout a long term deal with Taylor Moton. No matter which angle you look at this from the offensive line is far from being complete if that even happens because things don't often go according to plan in sports and injuries happen too.

No he’s not. He’s a bum. He’s been in the league 3 years. Name me a damn player that turned into something different after 3 years in the league. He is who he is. A backup QB.

I share your skepticism but pickings are slim to say the least. I used to be where you are but eventually you have to release all that negative energy and let go of what was and embrace what will be both good and bad. I hope you find peace with it brother.

I don't really want either one.

I remember everyone cheering when Ryan Grigson and the Colts kept drafting weapons for Andrew Luck while ignoring the offensive line. People were wishing we used that approach.

    Look what happened there.

Ryan Grigson's biggest problem wasn't just which specific positions he was selecting but that he was an awful evaluator of talent period. To apply a well this is what Ryan Grigson did and it didn't work out label to every mock that doesn't have us taking a left tackle is silliness. Fitterer could be great or he could be a dud we won't know for a few years but Seattle hasn't exactly been known for stellar drafts as of late.

LMAO. How old are you??? How long have you followed college and pro sports??? Being a pro athlete is a full time job.

How long would you say Teddy Bridgewater has been playing football? Just about his entire life he's played football, and not like you or I played it, it is his lifestyle.

That's what I get for expecting more out of you rubes. You whine and complain about the Panthers not making the dumb moves that you'd make, and you criticize the character of players because you think they should be tougher by virtue of the fact that they're rich.

He is one of those football fans who holds millionaire athletes to a different standard than the billionaire owners who hold cities hostage over stadiums. Don't expect much.

  9. If you are going to feel bad for anyone it should be the rookies and second or third year players on affordable contracts and the value within to the franchise. They are in there trying to increase their worth and the Panthers are trying to build on that while the young core is still in place. Unfortunately their contributions to the team went to waste with instances like two yard passes on fourth and long so the sob story isn't going to make it far.

Don’t care for all the Teddy hate.  He did his best and he wasn't as terrible as people here are saying.  He doesn’t need to meet and greet the guy when the writings on the wall.  He knows he wont be here.

I'm all for ending the personal attacks which are unnecessary but man speaking situational football wise it was pretty damn terrible. If you were to go back and rewatch the tape of some of those squandered drives you would probably lose your lunch. When people were wondering whether Kyle Allen could have faired similarly for much less financial commitment that about says it all. Allen by the way took quite a beating from the fanbase too.

I never said the players ran the league...I said they have zero reason for any whining

owners run the league...hence the term “owners”

If players daring to be outspoken is such a burden on your psyche there are other sports you can follow. It's honestly weird to be a fan and cheer louder for the billionaires while talking down to the athletes who make the game worth watching. You give off Donald Sterling vibes Scott.

    True.

While Darnold certainly wasn't hired for his Q&A prowess, he should have enough money squirreled away by now to afford a public speaking coach.  If I were Tepper, I'd hire one for him ASAP.  Shouldn't take too much effort to clean up his verbal pauses and it would make his press conferences a lot less painful to endure.

He's 23 years old and plays in a league where grown men pound each other into soil for amusement. Is it really that big of a deal?
