Anyone know which DEs we are still entertaining?
Jackie Lee replied to Panthero's topic in Carolina Panthers
Luckily edge is probably the most plug and play position on defense, I think draft then waiver wire is the way to go looking at the current fa options. Let DJ Johnson and Barno get a ton of work in camp to see if they are developing into anything decent -

Waiver priority A team’s waiver priority is determined very similar to how teams are ranked for the NFL draft. It is based on the team’s record and multiple tiebreakers as to where they sit in the waiver priority. When the regular season ends, the waiver priority is throughout the offseason. This order also carries into the first several weeks of the next season until the NFL kicks in the current records determining the waiver order which happens following Week 3 of the season. -

Probably won't know anything until either Clowney signs somewhere or we get sick of waiting on him and the FA pool shrinks even more. Pretty thing already, Bud Dupree, Carl Lawson, Marquis Haynes..Guys either on the tail end of their careers or strictly rotational guys -

Yeah difference is Chiefs don't even need a corner and could sign Gilmore if they really wanted to for under $10M. We on the other hand have nothing on the edge.

He wants $25M -
Yeah I much prefer the Dolphins rebuild Idea, although I think they'd have been better off taking Herbert over Tua. Tua is like the very top ceiling of what Bryce could do with an elite offense and now they're kinda stuck in a tough situation whether to pay him elite money to game manage.

See why I want a day 3/udfa guy? lol. Someone not in danger of getting picked off the practice squad this year but with some upside
-
Here’s your vet options for qb3 in camp/scout team guy
-
Yeah seems like a solid all around guy. This whole class has major flaws so I’m not too worried about missing out on the top 5 media driven guys

Give ISM real targets. Don’t washed dudes

Joe Milton seems like an interesting project/potential TE/gadget guy. Jordan Travis as a solid backup guy that might have more upside than he's getting credit for, maybe a Brissett type
-
It can include UDFA's since they usually sign immediately after the draft obviously

Yeah XL in the early 2nd is looking rough for me. If theres a run at WR in the late 1st just go bpa. Not sure Ladd is going to translate either, seems kind of gimmicky and dances too much -
If you want to be technical Kirk Cousins who was a day 3 pick after Washington took RG3 in the first round. Although I don't get your whole spending years on the bench thing and why that matters. Most day 3 picks are gambles and we need another qb at very least for practice squad/scout team
-
Interesting, wonder if he would be a gadget guy project jack of all trades. Dunno much about him
-
Diamond in the rough? Because maybe Canales should get a guy he think he can develop since he's supposedly a qb whisperer?
-
I think Canales and Morgan should be "allowed" by Tepper to grab a project/long term backup/safety net qb since most day 3 guys are gambles anyway and Dalton probably doesn't have much dawg left. Who do people like? 49ers took Purdy one year after Lance, and honestly we should have been drafting day 3 qb's at least every other year since 2015, I think we only grabbed Will Grier and Corral in between Cam and Bryce so that's 2 in like 11-12 years or so?
-
Yeah probably 2-3% to the agent and then 30-50% to taxes I'd guess
-
Depends on the state, depends on what cut their agent gets...I think they have to pay out of state taxes for away games as well

Interesting XL gets the honorable mention as a red flag lol. Yeah sounds like a "project" that we've had too many of in recent years. 23 already as well. I think realistically at 33 I'm looking at Mitchell or Coleman, one has better routes and the other can get you more yac for the dink and dunk -
