His contract voids Feb 20th, a few weeks before free agency for whatever that's worth. I guess we would have to come up with a new contract before then or let him hit FA?

Yes, I think all it means is he would have to agree to a new extension at his own rate, we couldn't just restructure to keep him or whatever. Or he could hit FA after this year and we could bid for him once that starts. I think it's kinda rare to be in that situation

Is someone really going to pay Dak like $50M a year playing like this? It's not horrible but I don't understand how some of these guys get $40-50M and others get like $10M to do the same poo.

I'm ok with that as long as we draft someone and keep Dalton for another year. The only tricky part is if we have a qb competition in camp/preseason next year and Bryce still looks horrible, no one is going to want to trade for him if he can't beat out Dalton and a rookie. Not for 2 years and $10M when they could just wait for him to be cut and give him a shot on a minimum contract

Well NBC doesn't believe Bryce might just need a break or whatever. I can't find anything on Schefter or Glazer saying "Dalton is on a short leash" specifically. Granted they do say Tepper is an impatient bitch and could change his mind at a minutes notice which is a fact

I mean basically the Giants declined his 5th year option then panicked when he won 9 games. But yeah all signs were pointing to him improving and he has the physical tools. He is under throwing these deep shots despite his build tonight. Dunno if that's been a trend lately

This is exactly what we need to avoid. Daniel Jones going on year 6 and people still waiting for him to have a breakout season. They gave him a second contract for finally going 9-6-1 with 15 tds to 5 ints in 2022 lol.

I don't exactly understand this hypothetical mock trade but DO IT. We send Bryce to Miami for some made up compensation/pick swap whatever scenario, and we draft Cam Ward! Obviously if Miami was above us at pick 7 they would just take Ward lol. -
