  1. First half of the schedule, Darnold get his sea-legs. Second half, well, we'll jump off that bridge after we burn it.
  2. Fantasy Football: Winners and losers from the 2021 NFL schedule release | Fantasy Football News, Rankings and Projections | PFF " It’s do or die for Sam Darnold and company — they have zero excuse not to be an above-average offense with a layup slate of matchups for the first half of the season. The Jets, Texans, Cowboys, Eagles, Vikings and Falcons all present defenses that ranked bottom-12 in fantasy points allowed to WRs last year. The super sexy schedule has me more bullish on rookie Terrace Marshall Jr. I originally thought he would let fantasy managers down in Year 1, but there’s an increased opportunity for him to make an impact with favorable matchups. I could see Marshall being a double-digit touchdown guy, as the Panthers’ biggest issue last year was red-zone efficiency. Teddy Bridgewater was the league’s lowest-graded QB inside the opponent’s 20-yard line (29.0). Marshall is PFF’s third-highest-graded rookie receiver (83.6) in the red zone based on career grades. "
  3. Career years for the QB, 3 WRs and a back up RB with a shambles of line and the starting LT out for most of the season. Overall his scheme and playcalling raised player's level of play and resulted in the higher pff. Was he top 5...well...probably not.
  4. Yes. Except when they rank us high.. then they're smart.
  5. If, and its a big if, Darnold becomes a franchise QB, this will be considered one of the best offseasons in Panthers history. If not thee best. We acquired so much talent across all levels on both sides of the ball. TBH I did not think this was possible. A QB, DBs LBs, DL, WRs, TE's and yes even OL. In one offseason. On paper, I think we have more depth than any time in recent memory.
  6. I assume you mean offensive coordinators. Its not just Horn...its what Horn in the scheme allows us to do. With Horn, AJ, healthy Donte and moving Chin back....we can blitz and play much more man coverage now. This defense should tear up.
  7. Fair...but as bad as it was it was compounded by talent and injuries Oh yes. I hated his draft until I loved it. I didn't like the Horn pick or the trading down. The more I read about the logic, the more I'm bought in. Yes. Here's to hope.
  8. The sad part was, Darnold might have known better had Gase trusted him.
  9. That appears to be exactly the case. Manning carried Gase. Gase did not do well in Miami or NY.
  10. I agree. You may be right that he should have trusted Edler, Corn and Pride more in man coverage because our zone was so bad, but what Snow did is the conventional logic. If you are outmanned, you don't play man. I look forward to it, because I'm pretty sure that is exactly what he plans to do. Look at the selections we've made on D. We want to blitz, we want press man. I found it funny when the draft analysts said Horn wasn't a fit because we didn't play man. Its the other way around, we got Horn so we can.
  11. Nahh. He has the most reps with Darnold than anybody. He's a vet and vets often skip OTAs. He may be negotiating because with all the mouths to feed, he may not get fed the ball as much, so his production will probably go down and he's on his last year. He cut us a deal when he came so I hope we do right by him, but we did draft 2 receivers. He'll be here for mini and I hope they work something out.
  12. You from Jersey or NY? You seem to know a lot about it and have a strong opinion on Darnold.
  13. I'm hoping Snow at his age, isn't interested in HC. He's followed Rhule from stop to stop. If we pay him well, I hope he'll stay. Brady on the other hand will probably be gone this season. He interviewed last season, is a very hot name. He's young and ambitions. Had we hit it out of the park last year, he would be gone. I guess there really was a silver lining with Teddy.
  14. As long as they assign her to the panthers because her questions led to some the best answers. Unlike some of the reporters, I think she actually likes football.
  15. I hope both do. We let I think Larson, Okung, Reed and Schoefield go. We'll be letting Little go, probably. If we drop the fullback, I'd add the extra lineman. We have space for both.
  16. I'd just like to note, I checked before I posted on these pressers, the bot posted after I did.
  17. That is exactly what he said in the presser. No excuses. Amen. I am really hoping he won't need any.
  18. True, we played that soft zone without blitzing, but it wasn't because we didn't want to. We didn't have the talent to play man. If you blitz with a corner or lb, there's a hole in the zone, you often play man. We now have the talent to do more tight man, which means more blitzs and tighter coverage. If Snow keeps us in the soft zone without blitzing THIS year, I will agree with you. But I wouldn't have put Pride, Douglas or Elder on an island.
  19. Yes, even our depth looks better, on paper. We don't have the stars but we've focused on adding quality with depth.
  20. We were spoiled by Luke and Davis. On paper, what we have now is a huge improvement over last year. Even Luvu has double the pff of Whitehead, for what its worth.
  21. True. I would add Donte did look pretty good last year. As Snow said, 3 ints in 400 snaps is a very high ints rate. If he stays healthy.... I really think these coaches know how to nurture talent better.
  22. If Taylor is a legitimate 2-3r rounder and Pride leverages that speed to take a step up, when AJ returns game 3, we have depth in the secondary. On the D line, Burns, Fox, Haynes, Roy, Nixon, Brown, Jones, Gross-Matos are all there. They're not all the same level, but it doesn't appear to have the drop off like years past. We did the same thing this year on with the oline, TE, and WR unit. There appears to a real focus on depth, rather than looking for stars this year.
