  1. Maybe on paper. In reality Oher was the best LT we've had since Gross.
  2. Ok. Since you won't post years, I'm assuming you are using years that Tannehill wasn't under Gase. The premise of the post was to compare GASE years of the two QBs.
  3. Yes, so its not LITERAL...forget it Yeah, I think you are wrong there. Scott did just fine last year. Our line did not drop through the floor this year, to bottom 5, or 2. Okung played 7 games, we lost them all. He had a medical condition. I don't think getting him will help our line, but PFF sure will think so. I do agree that our signings are bad this year. Okung looked like a good signing, but wasn't. Not because of his play, its because he didn't. We may not agree, but the other guy is like angry... talking about dogs and panties and stuff. He's longer winded than me...and that's saying something.
  4. Uhh, you are literally using literally wrong there. Yours was more balanced, calling players underrated as well as some underachieving. PFF was going to rate us low, I agree with that, that doesn't mean its right. But here's the point, do you believe our oline where it stands today is the 2nd worst in the league?
  5. There are just to many wrong points in there. Done going back and forth with you. At some point the Panthers will post the depth chart and one of us will be wrong. In the mean time....
  6. I gotta be honest thats a lot of words, sorry I'm not reading all that. Under RR, I'd agree with you. Vets and investments start. Those days are gone. Is Ian Thomas our starting Tight End because he's paid more than Dan Arnold and Tremble this year?
  7. Did you read his post. Some are underachieving and some are UNDERATED. The pff score is a wildly inaccurate guess in a spreadsheet. They don't even know who to grade or how to rate the rookies. At this point it has no bearing in reality.
  8. I wonder if that was a priority in this draft class, some type of durability measure based on number of starts/injuries etc.
  9. Yup 39 ints in 38 games, 1.02 ints a game...that includes his rookie season. 6 of his 12 games last season had 0 ints. So its not like he can't do it. We just need to create an environment and scheme to keep the ship upright. Agreed.
  10. I said you didn't mention his round, even though Erving is a first rounder. Forget it. Yes, right in there with the players on their rookie contracts (Wills & Becton) . Even OvertheCap lists him as a guard because it is closer to guard money. He's depth. Nice hedge. They can use whoever they want, its just a wild, most likely wrong, guess. No its not.
  11. Yup. Yes, it would be better not to throw a developing QB in to that sht. We'll see, but I think Darnold was just working on his scrambling for 3 years. Guess we'll see. Exciting ain't it? I never thought about the tank-for-Trevor and how it threw gas on the fire. Great point.
  12. No exact oposite. YOU assume our additions suck because they aren't 1st rounders. 5 mill a year is somewhere between guard and tackle, starter and backup pay. Its high for a backup, low for starting LT. We brought him in as depth. I even said Okung is not on our team BTW. No its not. They don't know who the starters are. Is there some dread/disappointment score we should add to any non 1-2nd round olineman? There are people who think if an olineman is not 1st or 2nd day, they suck. This assumption is wrong. My post said lets see where the rookies fall. Geese, give them a chance. They crunched the numbers for the rookies on the jets and other teams. Guess their hopes are just more crunchable. They don't know who the starter are, they excluded our rookies but included them on other teams. The calc at best is lousy guesswork.
  13. Why don't you mention Erving is a first rounder? Because he's not very good. He's depth. Don't judge BC, Brown and Moore by their draft position. Let's see if they earn their place and how they play. I know, we can raise our PFF score by getting Okung back, he's still available. That's how stupid this calculation is.
  14. PFF doesn't know who will start, that's the point. Trent Scott started more games for us at LT than Erving, put him there. Why choose Erving? Because he was a first rounder? Erving is depth, he started only 5 games at Dallas due to injury. I doubt he will be our starting LT if people are healthy.
  15. One thing, he's had hot streaks, particularly late in the season. His rookie season last 4 games he had 6 td to 1 int and a 99.1 QB rating, 64% cmp%, 7.4 yards per attempt. His second year, the last 8 games of 2018 he had a 94.5 QBR, 13 TDs 4 Ints 61.8 cmp% and 7.4 yard per attempt. And then again last year he beat two winning/playoff teams to take the jets out of the #1 spot. Hopefully we lengthen the hot streaks.
  16. This is the season for hope...post draft.... OTAs....new players. We have a new QB, new LB, D-lineman, new DBs, new TEs, new receivers, and new help on the o-line. It feels like Christmas. I'm going to enjoy it while we can. Come fall, I know it will hit the wall of reality, but for now, there's hope.
  17. It is true. The jets did improve their line. PFF calculated this using some calculation on the individuals on the line and they assume Erving will start, killing the score. The article doesn't even mention Scott with a 60.2 grade and 4 starts at LT. I believe our oline is on par with last year, middle of the pack where pff graded us then: Final 2020 offensive line rankings | NFL News, Rankings and Statistics | PFF BTW, if they are using the college pff grades for rookies (which they must be to value jets higher), then they should put Christian at LT for the calc. His 96 pff set the record for the highest grade ever for an olineman. Wonder what the spreadsheet looks like with that.
  18. Between Moore, Anderson, Marshall, Arnold, Tremble and Shi...that's a lot of mouths to feed. Darnold is just going to have to throw for 4500 yards.
