  1. Horn is good but can’t stay healthy. So that’s a C. Icky should be a guard but they keep trotting him out at LT. That’s a C.  Young gets a D right now with how absolutely inadequate he looked at QB. 2nd worst QB play since pickles.   If Young/pillows sucks this year, Fitt will be know ans drafting one of THE BIGGEST busts in NFL history.  Ryan leaf Jam Russel level bad.  Overall, he gets a strong F.  That’s why homeboy is out of a job.

I'm calling out the fan base. Too many empty seats with only 2 home games left. Was it Final Four fever? Was it because the playoffs are a lock?

That missile off the tape of Necas could be heard in the parking lot as it dented the post.

I did call game with my buddy sitting next to me. I told him game winner on the PP with 2:19 left. Nothing better than seeing all the Caps fans streaming out after Aho and Guentzel scored.

True story. A little kid prob 7 or 8 after the aho goal to go up 3-2 started doing the DX chop to the caps fans as they were walking up the isles leaving. They were laughing at it too. Just awesome.

  3. Just got home boys.  37 skated in warmups. Looked healthy.  Rod benched him. Pretty sure Svech got a penalty in press row….just kidding!  But this is unlike rod. But we are in cup season mode.

My thoughts tonight. Burns is massively up and down. He has some atrocious turnovers lately. Tonight, Koochie bailed him out. Honestly, I’m know gutz had three points(2goals and 1 assist) and Koochie only faced 15 shots, half those caps shots were high dangers.  Koochie was the star.

    Terrible 1st. Ok 2nd. Elite 3rd.

Svech sitting will do him good. KK played just how he does. No penalties. Good defense, zero offense.

Lastly, the cans played the first very half ass. They know they are better than everyone, ESP the caps. They honestly suck minus Ovi. They were playing not get hurt. When our boys turned it on, we’ll, it’s was party time.

I have no clue with this team and what rod is doing but to @Harbingerspoint, tonight was our lines we need along with GOOD Svech.

good night. I’m buzzed. Pie time. Cheers….

That should lead to a Canes goal using reverse luck lol

Unfortunately this one I’m serious. This team is content in their playoff spot. We look just like we are playing preseason hockey.

Very true!! Just frustrating seeing a trend after last nights game!! Maybe they are looking to the playoffs already

They are. Biggest half ass effort. Worse than last night.

  6. Guys. It’s clear has day here live. They have packed  it in.  They aren’t playing canes hockey.  They aren’t playing 100% go hockey. They have clearly mailed it in and content with 2nd place. They aren’t giving two shits on the ice. They are going half speed to not get hurt. If this is how rod wants to play I then play the lower guys like morrow for experience.  This is embarrassing

As long as Rod changes the lines I’ll be happy. And as ABH said stop sending top vs. top(1v1 2v2 etc. We have a shutdown line for a reason, put it the fug back together and use it!

Staal, Martinook and Fast. That’s why last change is so important at home during the playoffs. Love it.

McAvoy never hit back. He was barely even jockeying for position, svech expected him to fight back harder so his stick would have impeded movement.

I don’t know what to tell ya buddy. This is the most time I’ve spect talking about a hit that happened or didn’t happen live.  You are correct sir.   Im wrong. I’m moving on to the Caps.

Sure, we'd all like to look at 6 straight seasons of playoff hockey and think the Canes are the antithesis of what we have for professional sports in NC- the Hornets and the Panthers. But each year, as we look forward to the second season of hockey, there's yet another gremlin that halts the rod to the ultimate success. Whether it's untimely injuries at the end of the season, a scoring drought or just meeting a goal tender who happens to be playing out of his mind, the Cup has eluded Raleigh for those 6 straight seasons.

Tom Waddell does what has never been done in Canes history- brings in a couple of exceptional talents at the trade deadline that appear, on paper, to be what can push this team over the top. There is immediate success... followed by a plateau. And here we are again- the inability to score goals heading into the playoffs where 1 or 2 goals per game isn't going to cut it. RBA tinkers with lines, opts to play best-on-best lines instead of putting the checking line on the opponents top line, etc.

When does the captain say something? When do any of the bench assistants step in and point out the challenges? Why did RBA take a step back from the line combinations that were putting up over 3 GPA for a 2-week stretch? At what point do we start to look at the head coach and hold him as accountable as we hold the players?

Here is the issue. Rods system doesn’t really allow for a 60 goal scorer like Matthew’s.  It’s all team passes and more passes. Think team scoring. When the team is cooking, we can score. We it’s not, well, it’s 0-2 goals.  Like last night.  When a goalie is hot, we can’t solve them.  Like last night. It’s all rods system. I’m not saying get rid of Rod. No way, but playoffs Rod and regular season rod are two different animals.  One is elite, the other is average to ok.

I’m not sure what either of you are talking about… svech initiated both hits. There was nothing to retaliate to.

Svech made a solid hit on the boards   The bruins player hit back. Svech retaliated with a stick to the face. It’s pretty cut and dry. Tripp even said on the broadcast you can’t do that.

  11. Well last night sucked. At the least the first period. The other periods we played well, just had trouble scoring. Over under what period Svech takes a dumbass penalty again?  Play smart tonight, forecheck the Capitol bastards into the ice and score at will.

Like I said earlier, sit him a game. There has to be consequences or he’ll just keep drawing needless penalties.

Yeah I went back and watched the game where @Harbingers told me to. 37 definitely retaliated and now it’s become too much.  Gotta sit him.

Idk but those lines sucked worse than the starting lines. When will Rod go back to his best line combos.

Maybe he is just feeling this out before the playoffs.  Maybe the the team isn’t giving  it their all becasue they are stuck at 2nd and in no danger of dropping to 3rd.

  14. 5 minutes ago, DavidEng said:

Svech needs to sit. Yeah I said it. His passing and play has been subpar.

I can’t believe I’m about to say this. KK may suck at scoring but he does play sound defense and doesn’t cause penalties.  I would have KK come in for 37 for a game. Svech is not good right now.

It wasn’t even a retaliation. Svech stick came up as he hit McAvoy with the body McAvoy face got crunched between the glass and his own stick. sveches stick hit the visor and higher on McAvoy. So when he realized he didn’t get the call he threw his head back. Definitely not retaliation.

100% retaliatory. But we will agree to disagree
