  1. Both Humphrey and Josh Myers went right after TMJ… then we panicked and traded back up 3 spots for Brady C.
  2. Spencer and Kirksey have been here since 2021 running the college scouting side of things. And then there’s Robert Haines who has been here since 2015, worked his way up and now as the top national scout. All seem pretty active in decision making based off of the offseason “behind the scenes” videos the team makes. We have some newer area scouts— those people will typically hand in reports early December. The team reviews, folds those assessments into the full draft prep by the new year. End of the year around bowl season is usually really active internally but is not usually shown. Come draft season, they’ll already have plenty of stuff on prospects when we’re just starting to dig in. Jeff Morrow is a name you may have heard, he finally retired after being here since the early 2000s.
  3. I'm fine as in I'm a non-participatory fan. I don't care anymore, I don't get the stomach feels when it's a close game in the second half. I have no expectations, Dalton didn't change that, he just made it temporarily interesting. I'm more-so enjoying Sunday fall football vibes with the fam and my attention is only partially on our games anymore. Made some good chili so that was nice. I've been consistently not watching our games in full in a few years. Early this year, I was turning it off after our first few drives. The benching got me to tune in again and now, it's settled back to quad boxing or redzone again.
  4. Bad matchups, depleted defense, Bears defense is very good one. Just an overall recipe for disaster. We had a running game but fell behind and couldn't play catchup against one of the best pass-defense's in the league. The rookies didn't seem terrible for needing to carry the team. I'll give them that.
  5. Chinn is doing great today. His stint here after year 1 still confuses me to no end.
  6. Okay I’m over this entire 2025 class sans Boise State RB and Zonie WR
  7. If we were interested in multiyear services we would have worked out a deal when we traded for him. He’ll be 30 soon, it’s a bridge situation for him to find a nice final multi-year contract. Could still end up being here, but realistically, I see it somewhere else. A trade pre deadline is a bit too brash but I’ve seen crazier things happen.
  8. Im all for any way we can generate pressure. Current biggest weakness on the squad is our pass rush.
  9. The class is kind of souring on me. I'm leaning a bit into the Nus-Bus with an eye on Allar. Still want to see how the season plays out.
  10. but for real, we don't have admin tools so..
  11. Wondering if I should take the metra to Solider Field on Sunday. Was thinking this was going to be a stinker if we were still starting Young of the Shire but it would be fun to check us out.
  12. Hi all, In an effort to show our support and give more exposure to the good people helping in major ways, here are some helpful links for various resources regarding rescue, relief, and recovery efforts. The Carolina Huddle stands by the efforts to help and support all those effected. Do what you can, it is great to see so many people active and helping during such dire times. Hope this can be an additional resource and help. Sending our best. 13. My fam had a place on beech from the early 90s until around 2015. What we’ve heard from around there and Banner Elk has just been awful. Props to Greg Biffle. Lots of good people doing good work in such a tough situation.
  14. I thought you were joking but you’re legitimately right. He’s a 30.1 overall PFF and -0.278 EPA per play
  15. Kneeland has been promising. Just quiet if you just look at sack and tackle totals…
  16. Precisely. Same with XL and Sanders right now. Gotta give them a moment to breathe and let them settle into the roles. Will have ups and downs. Especially with Trevin, as every position is dependent and our defense is depleted. Now he’s getting the calls and in the center of it all.
  17. He was thrown into the game last week. This week will be interesting to see how he does with proper prep. Could show up pretty well given we’re playing a Shane Waldron offense and he’s got great sideline to sideline quickness. If that’s the case, I would caution not to overreact. Looking at the schedule, he could start hot and then cool. Enjoyed what I heard this offseason though, was a pick I was big on. Lots of guys liked him as the Lb3/4 in the draft even though many here were a bit “who is this’d” by the pick.
  18. A lot of players find themselves in Diontae's position and use a situation like ours to re-elevate and get a new multi-year contract. We're a bridge year for him. Just depends if he actually likes it here enough to consider a contract in house, but he's obviously going to go to the highest offer and best spot for him, very likely not here. Would love to see us rebuild around that Arizona receiver. It's rare to get a guy that size with that much finese in route running.
  19. People are pointing to the different coaching and GMs but we’ve kept the majority of our regional scouts and personnel directors throughout this time. Their reports are what get into the GM’s hands come mid-December. Crazy we have kept rolling through these guys with multiple regime changes.
  20. A 3” height disparity and substantial difference in arm strength are fairly major qualifiers in comparing any two QBs. And you have to consider the build/stature rather than simply the weight difference. They are rather different. Not to mention Baker is a guy who likes to step up and operate in the pocket a lot more. I’m not sold what you’re selling here.
  21. Unfortunately that means yesterday could’ve been his last game as a Panther. Trevin is up.
  22. I'll echo that it's at least watchable. I seriously couldn't watch games with Bryce. I turned our game on this week and didn't migrate to quad box/or another game by the half. That's huge strides. But for real, for a franchise that experienced Matt Moore, Kyle Allen, Rhule's 3-0 start, & a few others flash in the pans, you think we'd be conditioned not to be so reactive, but I think seeing competent football again just got everyone a bit jazzed. Also - I didn't have much time to check here yesterday -- but XL for example: he had a very up and down game with an awesome 2Q. Sure as hell want to see more horse riding celebrations this year. But he is what was advertised and could take some time. It could be up and down. Good thing is Canales clearly knows how to integrate his skillset early. JT Sanders isn't a bust, he isn't a hit. He's a work in progress, just like Trevin, just like others. My only counter is Brooks isn't a project but we'll see what happens. He's able to start practicing this week so time will tell. We've got the Bears, Falcons, Broncos, Giants on our schedule...there's winnable games. Let's root for wins, hope for some good development with the young guys. It's all about figuring out who emerges from this season as dudes for the future vs. who are placeholders/replaceable.
