Clausen didn't "fall off". He was terrible from the get go and remained terrible. Matt Moore was a solid backup QB and that's why he played 11 seasons in the NFL vs. Jimmy only being active in 21 NFL games (13 of those being in his rookie season). Moore started more games (32) than Clausen got a jersey for. But let's not get it twisted, Moore was primarily a career backup. He only started the majority of the games for his team during one of his 11 seasons (12 starts for the Dolphins in 2011).

It seems like all the other teams are treating the 2nd preseason game as the old 3rd game. Basically the regular season walk through where the starters play the most they'll play in the preseason. Meanwhile, neither of the guys supposedly competing for our starting QB role see a snap in this game.

Out of sight out of mind. Bozeman is hurt so he's out of sight and out of mind.

Yeah, Elflein is probably typical decent NFL backup caliber. Jordan is trash.

The only way you fire a HC early on in the season is if you want to seriously evaluate an existing assistant as a potential HC candidate. Other than that, suck it up buttercup. Fire him late in the season to get a jumpstart on the search.

Yeah, if you have multiple injuries at any given positional group you're gonna be on trouble regardless of the quality of your roster.

The regular season will tell but I'm not convinced so far. Particularly concerned with the OL (when have we not been) and DL depth.

There's potential to be significantly better but so far not so good.

Brown, Pleasants, and Daley all look like guys who are simply not NFL roster caliber. Surely there are some OL and DL on our final roster who aren't on our current roster.

This. Those two traits are nice and it's something to work with and try to groom. But damn, he looks bad other than that. I mean, Sam Darnold throws a really nice football. That doesn't make a QB.

Corral looked better than he did last week... until he went color blind and started throwing balls directly to Pats DBs.

Igo is often extremely hopeful in his player evaluations. I was hopeful for Corral too. Then he hit the field. I'm not saying he's a bust or a lost cause but... oh wee mayne. Early returns do not look good.

I hope his injury isn't significant. The kid needs all the reps he can get even if he's just running the practice team.

I wouldn't be surprised. Everyone knows the "competition" is a farce. They just want to get it over with and start gelling as a unit. For some reason Rhule seems to think this is going to light a fire under the team when it seems most likely to do the opposite.

I'd trust employing John Dillinger as my armored truck driver more than I'd trust Sam Darnold in a football game.

Howell is basically the polar opposite of Mac Jones.

You're just conveniently ignoring that these guys look better than Corral. No one was down on Corral until he took the field in the preseason and looked really bad.
