  1. You're not understanding what I'm saying. That same mentality of protecting ourselves from having to pay big money is what caused us to pick up Darnold's option. Sometimes you're best off to just roll the dice and see where they land to hedge your bets.
  2. I'd be okay with letting it dictate us parting ways with Robby. When you play as poorly as he did last year you really need to have the awareness that you have zero weight to throw around within the organization.
  3. It's about acquiring players to build a roster. That's all that matters. That's what the GM is judged on. After the draft and when the players hit the field no one cares anymore if he "won" or "lost" the trade. We're about to find out for real, not crunch numbers on paper using an arbitrary value chart.
  4. I don't at all buy into this line of thinking. Games aren't played on the draft pick value chart. At the end of the day, the only thing that really matters is the quality of roster you field and your W-L record.
  5. I wish we'd just send a mid-round pick next year to Philly for Minshew and get it over with. Stop this desperation to bet the franchise on a cast off. Hell, that's what I wanted to do last year. Either trade for Minshew or sign Trubisky. Then I would've still drafted Fields and not felt any pressure to play him too early.
  6. The Seahawks have drafted pretty terribly since early on in Carroll's career. Let's see how his first draft ultimately pans out but I'm not incredibly excited about it just yet.
  7. The only thing to support this idea is pure hoping and wishing.
  8. Tepper is probably driving this bus. He made his name in the investment world rolling the dice on incredibly risky investments and he's desperate for a QB. He's probably going to be the cause of the reckless move soon to come.
  9. Pure physical talent, I'd probably put him fourth behind Cam, Darnold, and Kerry Collins in that order. Obviously, physical talent only gets you so far.
  10. So... fix our Jets' trash problem with the Browns' trash? *Panthers' logic*
  11. Hell, I might be willing to actually give up a 3rd next year if they'd take Sam and Robby. No bullshit.
  12. Let's be honest, Tepper's Panthers have earned this disrespect. We're not used to being treated like the Lions and Browns of old because we always managed sporadic success. But when you have three straight five win seasons and four straight losing seasons, you're a punching bag and you're going to be treated as such until proven otherwise.
  13. Cam said something that's not PC. Watson is accused of a dozen cases of sexual misconduct. We can't fall all over ourselves to trade the franchise for an accused serial sexual predator then pull an offer for Cam because of some non-PC comments.
  14. Are we gonna pretend we didn't desperately pursue an accused serial sexual predator for over a year?
  15. He played for Temple, the Jets, and the Panthers. I don't think he likely gives AF about winning.
  16. If he played like Steve Smith on the field then he could be vocal like Steve Smith. But he's plays like Robby Anderson so he should STFU and hope the front office forgets they haven't cut him yet.
  17. I'm okay with rolling the dice on Baker IF we can unload Darnold and get Cleveland to eat some of his salary. It's probably not gonna work out, but just clean house after the season. If we do this, I'd prefer to trade #6 for future picks for the next regime but zero chance of that happening.
  18. Can we haze Baker for a couple of months like a fraternity pledge? I think that's what he needs.
  19. If they took Darnold and Robby I'd be willing to send them next year's 3rd.
  20. We're constantly in last call mode. We refuse to strike out, but we'll pickup a hefty bar tab to bring home a wildebeest.
