  1. James and Darnold? They'd have to rename Fanfest to INTfest.
  2. Not sure if that definitely takes OT off the board at #1. They still have no long-term answer at LT and the rookie could play elsewhere on the OL next season.
  3. Almost as much of a failure as the Packers only having two rings to show from 30 years of elite HOF QB play. Since 1992 their QB has been either Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers and they've only won two SBs in that timeframe. Honestly, that's pretty pathetic.
  4. But he went to Denver. Denver is basically Seattle viewed through a time machine set to 20 years ago. It's not like he went to LA or NYC.
  5. Their terrible drafting is why their roster fell apart. When you have terrible draft after terrible draft it's hard to build a roster. Hell, Panthers fans should know that as well as anyone.
  6. As is Russell. The Broncos really might be a legit QB away from making some serious notice though their division is an obstacle. On paper, that division is STACKED.
  7. Ideally, yes. But you're also saying this right after a team won the SB with a mercenary QB.
  8. No one is saying that. Why do you always argue like an emotional child? If they want to trade him for a conditional late rounder, then sure. Let's go for it. But spending significant resources on long shot vet QB options shouldn't be high on the list of any Panthers fan considering how not well that's been working out for us of late.
  9. As they should be. This trade signals an uncertain and likely painful rebuild ahead of them. When you have an elite QB you always have a chance so there's hope that a couple key moves or a banger draft class can get you right back in the mix but that train left the building today. Now they have to find another QB just to get back to that place.
  10. My point is that you perfectly described Rodgers's experience behind Favre. The difference is that the Packers were very confident that Rodgers would be a very successful successor to Favre and they were right. This contract screams that they're very confident that Love would not be a successful successor to Rodgers.
  11. I don't see it effecting much. Wilson was never coming here and it seemed like Denver was hell-bent on landing either Rodgers or Wilson. Rodgers also wasn't coming here.
  12. The Packers didn't give an aging Rodgers the highest cap hits of all time because Love was showing promise. That deal they gave Rodgers screams that Love is hopeless.
  13. I didn't expect him to get traded but I did expect the Broncos to be very aggressive pursuing a legit vet QB.
  14. He's a league minimum type of player. He's fighting for the #3 TE spot on decent rosters.
  15. They're not trading their best player for picks they'll probably never get to make.
  16. This. I agree with them that there will probably be at least one quality QB in this class but their odds of identifying and choosing that QB is worse than Hurney's odds in the 2nd round.
  17. Riddle me this... What is the advantage for a player with a contract with big guarantees with lots of dead money to play through injuries on a bad team? Now the same question for the team. This isn't about conspiracy theories. It's about business sense. When you have a player you've made a big investment in it makes no sense to have that guy playing through injuries risking further more serious injury on a team that isn't contending. You're already upside down on the contract. The smart move is to protect your investment. Same for the player. You're not playing for a contract. You've got your contract. You're not playing for glory and a ring, the team is going nowhere. It's one of those situations where the smart play for both parties is to just sit it out for next year though neither party can come out and publicly admit it.
  18. I told y'all that Rhule was going to leave us gutted both in draft capital and cap space. This is part of that process.
  19. Note: Salyer listed as an OT, but I'm drafting as an OG.
  20. Yeah, that's the message I'd be putting out too. You're rarely if ever going to have a player admitting to a "business decision" on whether he plays or not. Nor a team for that matter but we've all watched as IR lists balloon as teams get mathematically eliminated. Coincidence? I think not.
  21. Exactly. So why risk further injury? He has his bag. You see this routinely in the NFL. The player has no incentive to play through injury and the team has a big investment to protect. Unless you're contending it makes no sense for those guys to play through injuries. Stop reacting and think.
  22. I'm suggesting he isn't playing at anything less than 100% and why would he? The team sucks. It's not in his best interest or the team's with their financial commitment for him to be playing banged up even if he gets medical clearance. You're just being hyper-emotional, per usual.
