The Jags had the second worst defense in the league last year behind us and they're ready to punt this guy. That kinda says it all. No thanks, I'll keep my young WR who has shown some promise especially considering we only have two proven WRs on the roster one of whom is trying to work his way back into the league after a two year health related absence.

No. Stop trying to bandaid together the best bad roster we can manage. Coker has shown good potential. We can find a serviceable LB or two on the waiver wire as other teams make cuts.

He was on the same Clemson teams as Deshaun Watson. Guaranteed some weird stuff was going on in that locker room.

I'm honestly surprised they didn't just cut him on the spot. I'm sure there's something in his contract about weight and when he showed up still sloppy fat I would've just been like, "Yeah, best of luck. You really need to lose a lot of weight for the sake of your health but this is an NFL training camp not fat camp."
-
He didn't even do the 3 cone. He had a terrible shuttle time. Like middle of the road for a DE type of shuttle time. I think he basically put all his eggs in the 40 basket and just flat out choked. The speed and quickness shows up on the field and honestly that's all I care about.

Honestly, my interest in college sports has waned tremendously in recent years. Hard to keep up with it when you don't recognize the names of 80% of the roster because of the constant transfers. I mean, we have a kid suiting up for the basketball team this year who is like 24 and has been playing pro ball in Europe for several years. And we're not the only ones with that type of player. WTF is that??? They're really gonna have to figure out something going forward or they're going to kill the golden goose.

Sounds like UNC is heading to the SEC. This has been whispered about for years but never this loudly and widespread. I mean, you have Paul Finnebaum the guy known as the "Voice of the SEC" saying it's gonna happen now.

We needed receivers. Period. When your best receiver was an aging over the hill 34 year old vet you need receivers. I think those of you expecting T-Mac to be a slow plodding soft guy like Funchess are gonna be surprised. He doesn't have the physicality of KB but he's not soft like Funchess and he's quicker and faster than both. Expect something similar to Drake London. He had two solid seasons with trash QB play then blossomed in year three to put up nearly 1300 yards.

I'm for having a variety of receivers with different strengths. Honestly, Horn is likely to be used primarily as a return man as a rookie. Can't see finding a lot of snaps for him in front of T-Mac, XL, Coker, Renfrow, and Thielen. I mean, he's gonna be the #6 WR/return man injuries aside.
-
Deion annoys the poo out of me but I wish him nothing but the best in health.
-
Hopefully less and less as the season goes on as youngsters prove they're worthy of more snaps.
-
Yep, Renfrow returning to form and making this team would be awesome. We have a ton of unproven young talent but outside of aging Thielen we have nothing in terms of vet presence.

Never made it to any. I was living in Colorado for all of the Cam era. Made it to a few games during that era, but no tailgates.

Yeah, it was a whole thing. https://x.com/JaKiTruth/status/1895862647717036202?t=RNULDDc3y4gxLp1K7QPEDQ&s=19 Mid-4.4s is nothing to scoff at but talking about breaking the record then missing by two full tenths is pretty wild, not gonna lie. LOL! He also had the slowest shuttle time of all the WRs by over a full tenth. All but two TEs had faster shuttle times. Every CB and all but one safety had faster shuttle times. Literally half the DEs and all but three LBs, hell even a DT put up a faster shuttle time. The kid is definitely quick and it shows up in the clips, but for talking such a big game he sure bombed showing it off ont he stopwatch on Indy. LOL

This. They're Panthers greats, but not HOFers and that's fine. They were great players and can hold their head high regarding their careers. Both had a chance to have HOF careers though. TD had much of his prime robbed by three ACL injuries and Olsen was a late bloomer who had to get out of Chicago to blossom. He was basically a JAG for the first five years of his career before he became the player he was expected to be.
-
Love the fire but would prefer for our guys not to be lighting each other up during camp. Leave the hit stick for Sundays against other teams.
-
I know Jimmy Horn got mocked for saying he was going to break the Combine 40 record then showing up and running mid-4.4s but the kid is definitely quick as hell and it clearly shows up in the clips I've seen.

Four Panthers stood out this week T/C!!

Hoping Demani Richardson keeps looking good. He was a guy I was keeping an eye on in the draft last year in the mid to late rounds and I was borderline shocked when he went undrafted. Not saying I expected then or expect now that he'll be a starter but I think he's a NFL roster caliber player. -
Bam Martin-Scott: Most likely UDFA to stick?
LinvilleGorge replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
There's always training camp hype trains. Not just here, but everywhere across the league. A guy will have a good day or two and some people will act like that is going to translate into a major role then the guy gets released a couple weeks later and they're shocked and appalled. Happens every year with every team. -

My money would be on the kicker. -
They use stats to create the basis of their grading system but the stats based on the outcome of the plays (that aggregate into what we football fans call "stats") are not incorporated into the grade. That's the best I can do in terms of explaining this to you. I've tried, every link from PFF has tried, yet you just keep on keeping on. LOL
-
It's hilarious watching you crash out while being completely wrong. Every link you posted regarding player grades specifically told you that they aren't incorporating stats into these grades, that it's based on their evaluation individual plays. That sent you scouring the internet where you came back with soccer grades as some type of gotcha before you shifted to pass protection grades where you misunderstood that they were using stats to create the basis of their grading system but not in the actual actual creation of the player grades. Pointing that out sent you back to the internet to dig some more where you came back with their "Advanced Coverage Grade" metric which is separate from their player grade.
-
It's a piece of information. Yeah, I would expect the PFF guys to know how to use the tool they created.
-
That's separate from their player grades which is what we were talking about. But good lord this is way more important to you than it is to me and I don't really care to keep reading through the links you're desperately digging through to try to find anything to support your dear PFF. At the end of the day, I hope you're right and I hope PFF is the greatest player evaluations tool ever crafted because it sure seems like Tepper is building an analytics team that he could've just gotten with a $120 subscription.
