  1. I don't care about this mythical "true #1" but I honestly don't think you can name 32 better NFL WRs than Tee Higgins.
  2. We take too many fliers on pure measurables prospects. I'm all about it occasionally. Sometimes you can hit some real home runs. But when you look at most of our picks since Rhule was hired it's like we're just taking the highest rated RAS prospect on the board. We need to try to win football games, not the Combine.
  3. It was a sincere offer. That's the problem. Everything right now is taken in the worst of possible context. I can't fix that.
  4. I'd honestly rather look to FA for WR and use #33 elsewhere.
  5. Ugh. I'd rather not. Have we ever had a 2nd round WR pick work out? We sure have drafted a bunch of duds.
  6. That's the thing. I WAS positive. Then preseason started and we looked terrible. I shared my concerns as did others. We were roundly mocked for not understanding the NFL and how preseason doesn't matter and how everything will look so much different and better once we started game planning So... when does preseason endband this game planning begin? I'm ready for us to look much different and better.
  7. It was a sincere offer. Straight up. If people actually wanted a positivity thread I'd provide it and enforce it.
  8. You honestly can. You don't like it but you can take it. Others can't. Anything not glowingly positive sends them into a spiral. We're 0-6. We are at or near the bottom of the league in most passing metrics. Bryce hasn't been able to demonstrate an ability to effectively throw beyond 29 yards. THAT is the flash that I want to see.
  9. Unpinning. The offer was made and it's unwanted so stop complaining.
  10. Well, I tried. Note who brought the negativity to the positive vibes only thread. Someone is most certainly throwing a hissy fit. Honestly, I'd create a positive takes only sub-forum if I could but I'm just a lowly mod.
  11. Based on what? Where is the actual proof that he can effectively throw deep in the NFL?
  12. It's clear that there are some posters here that do not want to encounter any less than glowing opinions regarding the Panthers. This is your thread where I promise there will be no negativity allowed here. Seriously, I'll ban folks. The people who want only be positive should have a place to go.
  13. I just asked a simple question. Why so sensitive? Am I actually wrong that this is all very similar to Teddy's time here?
  14. This is so reminiscent of Teddy. The inability to throw deep. The conservative approach. The small group of folks trying to cope.
  15. I LMAO when they literally ran a one man hail Mary from 1 yard out. Like... really? THAT was the best you've got there??? I was thinking maybe roll out your mobile QB with a fade to Waller, maybe a drag across the back of the endzone coming behind it. Run a slant over the top of the primarily as a clear out. But one route? Just a hail Mary one read jump ball from the one yard line? LOLOLOL I would've fired my OC right there on the spot.
  16. Did you catch their game this weekend? A run with 14 seconds from two yards out with no timeouts right before half. Barkley came up short and time expired and they came up empty. Same situation at the end of the game. They ran a passing play where only one man ran a route. Waller basically ran a vertical pattern (from the 1 yard line) and all other eligible receivers basically just stood there. It was utterly bizarre. I get making your 6'7" TE your #1 option in that situation but you're gonna run a double or die play that is going to win or lose this game with only one option? C'mon man...
  17. I think "pocket time" is misleading. I think "time to throw" is more accurate. Howell is good at buying time and he'll make throws knowing he's about to get clobbered. I wouldn't consider that "pocket time". It's simply a measurement of how long it typically takes a QB to deliver a pass.
  18. They have the second worst OL in the league behind the Giants from what I've seen. Their pass protection is practically non-existent. One of the reasons I'm so down on Bryce is because of what I'm watching Howell do with even worse OL protection, granted he does have an elite receiver in McLaurin.
  19. The two longest white dots were dropped balls that would've been TDs. It doesn't show up on a stat sheet but it still makes the D respect your ability to go deep. Howell is a top five deep ball thrower in the NFL right NOW.
  20. Well, Daniel Jones is terrible and the Giants have the worst OL in the league. Purdy is a system guy surrounded by elite talent. Hurts chucked two 40+ and completed two 25+. You don't have to air it out all game long. We saw the heating Cam took with Shula trying to do that. But offense is a lot easier if you establish a viable vertical threat and without it you better have elite weapons with a QB that has elite accuracy and anticipation. Maybe Bryce could do that with the right supporting cast in the right system but it's going to be very difficult to recreate what the Niners and Dolphins have built.
