  1. I'm always excited about the game. I feel we let a better Seattle team come in here and steal one. This week we travel to play a team that I don't think is as good as we are. This is one we "should" win, but we know how the Panthers usually do with those games. I still think we win.
  2. In one of the scouting threads the OP said their secondary was on par with that of Seattle's- this is where I stopped reading. I watched some of the first half and they only thing that impressed me was their front 7 and Manuel's poise in the pocket. Their four down linemen are a good bunch. Williams and Williams are very good. Carriker actually stood out to me due to his explosion off the line and ability to penetrate quickly. This will be a test for the interior line. Darius is good, but inconsistent according to their fans. Their LB's are gap sound and aggressive, I think screens and a draw or two could produce big results. You can tell they're well coached with how quickly they read their keys and move to the ball carrier. I do think we'll be able to run against them and protect Cam. Should be a good match up.
  3. Point 4 is probably my single biggest gripe with this franchise as a whole and its been that way for as long as I can remember. We just lack the mental toughness and the "refuse to lose" mentality that I think would put us over the top.
  4. Yeah, Eugene Robinson harped on that, saying proper technique would have made all the difference.
  5. You could see Beason struggle some, but it wasn't bad by any measure. As he adjusts to the outside and his conditioning catches up the D will get better. Now, if we can elevate the play of the secondary we'll have a wicked defense. Nice write up and pics JI.
  6. Sounds like a good game. I'm stuck at work and have to take Mixon's word for it.
  7. That last sentence sums up your lack of knowledge very neatly.
  8. Trade your most veteran CB on a very young secondary who's a damn good nickel AND ST'er- who can also hold his own on the outside for a OL that may or may not be an upgrade over what we already have? Is there really a need to elaborate?
  9. What a great day. No more Fua or Pickles.
  10. @josephperson: #Panthers have released offensive lineman Hayworth Hicks, per league source.
  11. Bersin cut. @josephperson: Per league source, #Panthers cut fmr Wofford WR Brenton Bersin. Could be signed to the practice squad. @bbersin10
  12. He won't want to be in the same room as Smitty.
  13. Doubt it. As Mr Scot pointed out yesterday he was released by his former DC and current HC. I'd say, from that, he's pretty much done.
  14. If you're teasing I'll track you down and nut punch you.
  15. He was a little over the hill I guess. He never impressed me and getting juked out of his shoes by McCoy more than once made me a little wary. I'm surprised though. I guess Captain and a Josh start on the outside.
