I hope they bury Sanders in the Carolina clay.

Scourton and Princely will be interesting, but I think TMac will be the star--

No, I get it. I am just high on Ransom and Richardson--and I think the youth movement will send Scott down the depth chart. I think they are right to make the young uns earn it. -
Salute to Panthers for their new 12 yr old QB!!
MHS831 replied to Doc LRB's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't know. First of all, he is a lefty--a southpaw--not sure how the offense will look. Too harsh? Happy for the young man. -

that is disappointing--willing to bet he is not starting week 1 -
Let's see--sign a player with 4 years NFL experience in his prime and cut an undrafted free agent who had about a 0.4% chance of making the team. THAT is an upgrade--even if he gets cut--it give us a better chance of getting better.

The 7 things we’ve learned about the Carolina Panthers in training camp

I am feeling 9. Heard it here first. -
LB is one of those positions that is dependent upon other positions--like a QB with a bad OL and sucky WRs--His DTs were good, fwiw.
-
stats look solid to good vs run, average vs pass.
-
all good points.

I can't remember what he did to get blackballed for a while--I don't think he is a racist, however, based on Brandon Parker from NC A&T, a guy Gruden picked in the 3rd round. He is a son of a friend of mine, and they said Gruden was a solid guy--fwiw.

A lotta people compare TEs to those pass catchers who get 1000 yards receiving. We have a potentially great WR room (we are better, from top to bottom at WR than we have ever been, in my view) and we have RB horses and the OL to run the ball--which will be our priority. We have a pass-catching TE and a solid and improving Tremble--I doubt Evans is more than a dependable hybrid TE

This team has been its best with dominate ILBs--
-
We have a good DL, so maybe that alone will improve the LB play. I think we have 3 decent LBs--low end starters in Rozeboom, Wallace, and Cherelus and Windmon played well in short duty last year. I also think we have 2 UDFAs who could make it---Possibly not as thin as we think.
-
As an edge, if we get 2 good years (8-12 sacks) out of him, this contract is a bargain. I think he will be a better pro than college player--Princely is the wildcard. if he steps in and up, watch out.

The headline says "details"--I am not sure the significant details are in the article.

Scourton isn't signed (& apparently it's a thing)
MHS831 replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am guessing that he signs for 4 years, $8.4m with $6m guaranteed. I do not see Morgan giving in easily, and these players are losing leverage. I am a Scourton fan and I see him as a real sleeper pick who will be a better pro than college player. They may need to address the rookie salary scale to include caps on guaranteed money-- -
I think AT is going to be a rotational slot and not much more. On the outside, we have XL and TMac and Coker could play multiple roles (primarily a slot in 2024). With Renfrow likely to stick and Horn destined to be a ST/Slot, it seems that the overload at the slot position COULD push Coker into X and Z responsibilities--we shall see. But with Coker, Renfrow, and Horn, slot is pretty crowded, imo

I sure did!!

Kurt Warner....Jake Delhomme, Jay Feely, Matt Bryant, and Oronde Gadsden,Anthony Armstrong, Lincoln Coleman, Rashied Davis, David Patten, Rob Bironas, Antonio Chatman, Mike Vanderjagt, Paul Justin It happens.

I figured i was not seeing the big picture--when I first started following the Canes a few years ago, I thought his brand name status meant that he was the superstar and I think I always expected him to perform at that elite level--I did not know he was a half point player--he sure (to me) is quiet about it.

offseason fluff to keep reporters employed. However, it does reflect the mindset that the Panthers are the NFL's farm team.
-
That is another thing--Staal (to me) seems like a liability. I figured hockey experts would blast me for saying it, but when I heard the name, I expected more. I realize that he is old and probably serves as a leader and mentor--and he is usually good at face offs, but I struggle to see him as an asset--maybe I need to learn the game better.
