  1. Jarvis and Drury both look like players. And Cole looks like he's playing regular season already, the way he's was hitting guys last night. Svech and Aho both had opportunities in the 3-on-3 OT to win last night and fumbled badly. Tripp and company were talking about how hard Svech worked in the off-season and how he was in camp early, but I don't think he looked good at all last night. He whiffed a couple shots, missed passes off his stick and his puck handling looked pretty rusty.
  2. The Dallas Cowboys exposed the Carolina O-line yesterday and provided a pretty simple blueprint on how to beat the team when CMC is not on the field: No CMC? Stack the box with 7 guys and go full tilt to the QB: 5 sacks, 2 INT, and a bunch of hits and knockdowns.
  3. How are any of the O-line getting hurt when all they do is watch the opposing guys run past them?
  4. Nearly 7 seasons removed from the last time this team had an O-line worth anything and it still shows up as a new thread topic each week during the season. Here's a thought, just go back to 2015 and merge all these threads.
  5. That's game. Think I'll go clean up the Jeep. Safer than watching Darnold get killed.
  6. Fug this team and not building an O-line. Fug you, Rhule. Fug you, Fitterer.
  7. Carolina will not win this game, and it won't be a lack of effort. Carolina will lose this game due to occurrences not under their control.
  8. If you have any thought about this being a fairly called game by the officials, you haven't been watching the NFL or the Panthers very long. It's only the first quarter and you have another 2 hours of getting jobbed by the league.
  9. I counted 5 on the list I have not seen. Nonetheless, some goods ones too far down on the list: Oz, Big Love, Vice Principals (fugging hilarious), Silicon Valley at 43?!?! The Comeback and Enlightened were awful, and how did Luck even make the list when it ran only 2 or 3 episodes? Newsroom didn't make the list at all?
  10. Sheeeeeiiit... all you youngsters.... I remember $10 "lids" and "4-finger bags" and, if you were a big spender, you could get some Acapulco Gold for $15-20, Maui Wowie... geez, I can't remember them all. Sensimilla from Northern California was the best back then.
  11. I don't mind the lineup or the music, but damn, this isn't a whole lot better than throwing the classic rock bands up there who haven't recorded anything new in years- Dre's last album was 2017, Eminem and Snoop within the past 2 years, Mary J. Blige- 2017 and Kendrick Lamar was 2017 also. So, yeah, there won't be any ground-breaking new stuff here.
  12. As far as a true football game, yes. But watch the ratings for the sh!tshow on Sunday night- Brady vs. Bellichick. And ratings pay the bills, not quality of the game.
  13. So, why do you guys continue to torture yourselves over this sh!t? It's been a fairly consistent theme with this team since 1995, so why is 2021 any different? Live your lives, enjoy what time you have with friends and family, turn on the TV on Sunday and watch the game. All the time spent hand-wringing over these ridiculous talking head shows when you know full well ahead of time the Panthers will not be a favorite is kinda like watching their last Super Bowl against Denver thinking there's a different outcome.
  14. He was undrafted and made it onto more than one roster in this league. The NFL, where teams may put 3 TEs on the roster, and he was able to make it undrafted.
  15. It's Stephen A. Smith & Fox News- what programming genius thought this much bullsh!t in one space would work?
  16. The Texans have solid, veteran players at every position. My concern is the Panther O-line and the Texans WRs. Brandin Cooks and Danny Amendola can make any defense look silly, but they're both getting up there in years and may be a bit slower.

We've done our best to break it down into a few separate parts. The good Carolina signed Svechnikov to a max-term deal at an affordable rate, which was a tidy piece of business. The 21-year old is a superstar in the making and an integral part of Carolina's attack. Bear is a nice addition to a defensive corps that lost a huge piece. The bad The Hurricanes traded Nedeljkovic, a Calder Trophy finalist and seemingly the stable future in goal for a pick and player the club ultimately let walk. It was a peculiar decision at best. They also let Hamilton hit the open market, which could prove to be a costly mistake. He joined a division rival at a cheaper cost than several inferior blue-liners signed this offseason. Not only is Hamilton elite at shot suppression, he's one of the league's best offensive defensemen. The uncertain Bringing in Andersen and Raanta aboard carries a lot of risk. Both goalies have been capable starters in the NHL but are injury prone and a few years removed from their best work. Retaining Nedeljkovic and finding a cheaper backup would have been the more sensible approach. The Hurricanes insist they didn't give an offer sheet to Kotkaniemi out of spite for Montreal's attempt to poach Sebastian Aho a few years back, but the hockey world isn't convinced. Why else would you give a low-ceiling offensive player $6.1 million per season? If Kotkaniemi doesn't pan out, this could be remembered as an all-time blunder. The unnecessary Signing DeAngelo after the Rangers bought him out drew plenty of ire from fans across the league. What has the controversial blue-liner done to prove he deserves another chance? Grade: D+
  18. Drew Brees and Payton fugged the team over with respect to their QB situation. Who, in their right mind, would make a conscious decision to go into camp with Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill as your QB options? Winston has proven himself time and again to make bad decisions and be a turnover machine, while Hill is nothing but a wildcat running back.
  19. I wouldn't pretend to know what Brees is looking at when he says "college defense." But here's what I have seen: 10 sacks, 3 picks, holding QBs to a 52.5 completion %, 93 total rushing yards thru 2 games.
  20. KC essentially fired their entire O-line after losing the SB. 5 new starters this year.
  21. Listening to Terry Bradshaw butcher his name 3 times during the halftime show was painful.
