  1. Well, sort of. The Canes played some games using taxi squad guys while the Covid-positive guys remained quarantined. But they did only postpone a couple games, more so because of the Dallas situation, not so much the Canes. In the Canucks situation, they can't field a team. Little different.
  2. I'm onboard with the author that Manson isn't worth a first-round pick. If the choice is to give up a 1st round pick or give $8M to Dougie, unfortunate as it may seem, the second option I can live with. And, I'm not sure, but the author also makes it sound like Fleury is the odd man out if Carolina does find another right hand blue liner.
  3. He's been hurt this season, but he's not an offensive-minded D. He's physical and would provide a presence Dougie cannot, for some reason, figure out. Look, right now everyone (Hamilton & Canes) is saying the right things, but if Hamilton wants $8M a year, he needs to find a physical part of his game that will have teams thinking twice about teeing off on Canes players. I'm not completely sold on Hamilton at that price. I'm also beginning to think the team is looking at replacing TT. I'm increasingly concerned if he'll ever lace up the skates again.
  4. The Canes are looking for a right-shot defenseman. At a decent price. This may be the guy.
  5. https://www.yardbarker.com/nhl/articles/ducks_listening_to_trade_proposals_on_defenseman_josh_manson/s1_16454_34569980 Pierre LeBrun reports during a recent TSN Insider Trading segment that, as hesitant as the Anaheim Ducks are to move Josh Manson, the team is listening to offers on the player ahead of the 2021 NHL Trade Deadline. LeBrun notes, considering the Ducks season and where they are at in the standings, if a good offer is presented, they will take it seriously. This is interesting because teams are looking for a right-shot defenseman ahead of the trade deadline and with clubs not out of the playoff picture yet, some of the bigger names may not be moving. David Savard is a name that gets a lot of attention now, not only because he’s a viable top-four d-man on most teams, but because he’s one of only a handful of good options available. If Manson gets added to the list, it changes things.
  6. How about Ducks D Manson? Anaheim is taking offers and they have one good goalie and almost a complete #2. $4M cap hit. He's a UFA and wears the "A".
  7. I would not be surprised in the least that if a QB were to be available at #8, the Panthers would be willing to give that pick up for the right price.
  8. Skjei and Bean have both played quietly, but exceptionally well the past 3-4 games. And Aho's stick the last 2 minutes of the Dallas game when they went to an extra attacker was a sight to behold. Little things like these will win important games down the stretch.
  9. Good article. There are a couple contenders out there who have goalie depth issues and I'd be surprised if Waddell hasn't had inquiries about Reimer. I gotta believe he's looking for a gritty RD who will fit for a couple years.
  10. Would like to have Joel Edmundson on the roster right about now. I'd line him up with Fleury. We may never see TT play hockey again if his concussion symptoms continue. Reimer still a trade option?
  11. He's the guy Tripp is always raving about his pain threshold. I think he got hit in the middle of the ice, not against the boards. That being said, I am very happy the Canes didn't let themselves get pushed around. They went hit for hit and Blake Comeau is a dirty fugging player. There are other refs who would have whistled him a couple times last night. Florida is going to be a little more physical as well, seeing what happened last night.
  12. Gotta agree. When both goals come from the blue liners and you play 60 minutes with no productivity and no net-front presence from anyone else...
  13. Canes may need a PP to tie this game.
  14. The Canes escaped a 2-game set with a split. What is it with Chicago that screws this team up? I don't think the Hawks totaled 40 shots in 2 games, but lit the lamp 5 times.
  15. Skjei played well. Fast also, he's deserving.
  16. Reimer hasn't seen a puck all night. Stevie Wonder would be better.
  17. A weak effort all the way around. 2 goals on what? 16 shots? WTF? And had 2 days off?
  18. Sure, that contract was put together by a completely stable genius.
  19. Nothing and nothing. I simply find it curious when one GM makes a questionable signing, fans want to hang him at sundown. Another GM makes a questionable signing and it's "thinking outside the box."
  20. Funny how signing Matt Kalil wasn't considered "thinking outside the box."
  21. https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-3-stars-of-the-week-march-29/c-323035252 How is this youngster not getting more notice?
