That would be like calling the goalie. If you go with Freddie, he needs a shutout for you to win. I think far more difficult than calling a skater for the first.

Panthers81 with the winner tonite on Svech's "delayed" lacrosse goal.
-
Coyle wouldn't go with Svech, either. And he called out Svech! Comes after him and won't drop the gloves. The whole team is fragile vagies.
-
Refs are fugging horrible yet again.
-
Led with his leg, wanted to go knee in the thigh. Regardless, Noesen went down.
-
He boarded Pesce well after the puck was gone and Pesce went after him and the refs jumped in to protect the pussy.
-
Fugging Marchand is a rat coward. Will take cheap shots and not drop the gloves when he gets called out. Fugging bitch.
-
Refs called it a good goal; Toronto said no.
-
League will call this off- no goal. Watch.

Yes, and I didn't get a lot of feedback one way or the other. So, we'll start the playoffs with a new look to be unveiled Game 1. And we'll start from scratch, with a possible 16 wins up for grabs. And, players will be able to call a shutout for either team, and get a win if it happens.

The Canes will do what they do against the Bruins- shoot from the perimeter with little to no net front, making scoring that much more difficult. My question for you guys, does someone get a win if they call shutout and Carolina doesn't score? Just asking because I'd be tempted, to tell you the truth. Would like to hear your thoughts, nonetheless. Regardless, I'm going with Brady Skjei tonight.

TT went from $1.4M to 2.8 to where he is now, 5.4. And he's a UFA so if someone offers him 6 as a 50pt per season guy, he's gone. Noesen deserves a raise. He's taken a pay cut with each of his contracts and these past 2 seasons in Raleigh have been the best of his career. I'm on the fence with Martinook. His salary is not a cap killer, but if he wants something north of 2.5M, he may be gone. Drury, I think, is still trade bait. There are prospects that will make up for either or both being gone. And the #11 in the room.... I think Staal might call it a career after this season. Just have a feeling. -

- I've been saying for some time Pesce is likely gone. - Skjei is an interesting piece. Slavin is at $5.3M thru next year and Orlov is getting $7.75M thru next year. How much is Skjei going to want? He's at $5.25M now, does he get to $6.5 or $7M? - Chatty is a given. He might be one of, if not the best, 3rd pair d-man in the league. - Necas is an RFA. Will be interesting to see how the Canes react, if at all, to any offers. - If Necas is gone, how much of a priority is it to get Jake Guentzel re-signed? Because, as well as he's playing here, he didn't want to leave Pittsburgh to begin with and I'm sure he probably has a sour taste in his mouth over being traded. -

Dude is playing exceptionally well in Pittsburgh. Just under a point per game average (5G and 8A in 16 games), 2 minutes more TOI, much lower PIM and a -2. -

I see 8... maybe 9 points there. Put 'em at 111 or 112 for the season? -
No winners on the board last night. Although the Canes played a stellar 3rd period to earn that win. And, no, Ovi #8 will never be the GOAT. Gretzky will always be, never another like him.
-
I'm calling out the fan base. Too many empty seats with only 2 home games left. Was it Final Four fever? Was it because the playoffs are a lock? That missile off the tape of Necas could be heard in the parking lot as it dented the post. I did call game with my buddy sitting next to me. I told him game winner on the PP with 2:19 left. Nothing better than seeing all the Caps fans streaming out after Aho and Guentzel scored.

Unlike the team, there was a Huddle winner last night and DavidEng jumps into 2nd place alone. Anybodyhome- 8 DavidEng- 6 Harbingers- 5 CarolinaWillRise- 5 WelshPanther- 4 Panthers Fan 69- 4 DamnitJake!- 2 MillionDollarCam- 1 panthers81- 1 ------------------------------------------------------- I'm sticking with Drury. He was fired up last night, played pretty well and got the best of John Beecher. Let's look at the tale of the tape, shall we? Jack Drury (6'0" and 175lbs, Harvard) going against John Beecher (6'3" and 215lbs, Michigan). And Drury, by nearly all accounts, won the fight.

Sure, we'd all like to look at 6 straight seasons of playoff hockey and think the Canes are the antithesis of what we have for professional sports in NC- the Hornets and the Panthers. But each year, as we look forward to the second season of hockey, there's yet another gremlin that halts the rod to the ultimate success. Whether it's untimely injuries at the end of the season, a scoring drought or just meeting a goal tender who happens to be playing out of his mind, the Cup has eluded Raleigh for those 6 straight seasons. Tom Waddell does what has never been done in Canes history- brings in a couple of exceptional talents at the trade deadline that appear, on paper, to be what can push this team over the top. There is immediate success... followed by a plateau. And here we are again- the inability to score goals heading into the playoffs where 1 or 2 goals per game isn't going to cut it. RBA tinkers with lines, opts to play best-on-best lines instead of putting the checking line on the opponents top line, etc. When does the captain say something? When do any of the bench assistants step in and point out the challenges? Why did RBA take a step back from the line combinations that were putting up over 3 GPA for a 2-week stretch? At what point do we start to look at the head coach and hold him as accountable as we hold the players?

That's game, boys. See ya later.
