Raanta is already listed as the probable goalie for Thursday's game v. Montreal. I'll be at that game, just like I was at the last one he played and gave up an early OT winner. And his Chicago numbers? .875 save percentage- one of the lowest in the AHL, and he only played 2 games while he was down. 6 GA in 48 shots.

A trajectory which, going on 9 years later, is still a long way from changing.

Say what you will with the Canes showing little consistency and unable to put a win streak together, but... At 38 points and currently 5th in the Metro, they're only 2 points behind Philly for 2nd and 7 behind the Rags. And, they have a couple games in hand and the 2nd half of their schedule has more home games after spending a lot of time on the road.

No way last night's game even goes to a shootout if the refs had whistled at least one of the pretty egregious penalties during the OT.

For Canes fans, I'm not sure how you arrive at anything besides NYR, Boston and Washington/Tampa Bay.

Pesce clearly got boarded with no call. Svech got held and pulled down twice. Any of those calls gets a 4 on 3 OT the game is over.

Got jobbed by the refs.

Note to NHL: 1. Lose the shootout. 2. Zero points for an OT loss. Somple fix to eliminate what the Caps did.

Think the Pens will stall OT to force a shootout like the Caps?

He'll be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, so he's playing to get paid. Even if he does get traded, he'll be handed a contract either when the trade is done or at the end of the season. So, if anything, he should be playing his best right now, regardless of what team he's on now, at the TDL or the end of the season. He's literally putting his paycheck on the ice every night.

So now I have to question the news that he suffered rib fractures, both displaced and non-displaced fractures.

I had a schedule conflict with the wife. I could have watched most of the game over my shoulder or ducking out to check my phone, but decided just to keep an eye on my phone occasionally and discreetly. I may watch the replay today or just the highlight reel.
