  1. Good point man. It says something if the former team, that knows the most about a player, doesn’t make a competitive run to keep them. I recall the Vikings tried to keep thielen (and their fans liked him), but didn’t want to pay as much as we did.
  2. I’ve never seen such a polarizing Panthers player. Makes pro bowls. Opponent’s OC has to constantly scheme for him. Other teams lining up to trade and pay for Burns. We’re happy trading him away for picks so we can draft busts and then use the money for free agents like Miles Sanders and Hayden Hurst.
  3. Only people right in this thread so far are the ones calling out that all teams essentially have bad drafting luck like this outside of the first three rounds. Do a similar chart for other teams outside of the usual winners with the best coaches and you’ll see the same. With that said, we’ve got to get better with our second rounders. This is why it kills me when anyone wants to trade one of our proven drafted players for picks who will likely be complete busts.
  4. Yeah, its not just the stats. From what I see, he’s the only one on our defense that the opposing OC gameplans for. Get rid of Burns and then we have nothing.
  5. Surprised how little production he’s had… Maybe these vets need to realize they actually need training camp and acclimation to the season.
  6. All of these were interesting that don’t feel like the Burns situation so far. Peppers was a multi-tag storyline where he essentially said he wasn’t going to play anywhere but a big market… Star didn’t want to be here at all and the Panthers didn’t seem to value his future fit. Norman was Gettleman making a really bad decision. Just absolute stupidity, but we may have made the right decision in hindsight as Norman’s play rapidly fell off a cliff outside of the right scheme fit.
  7. First realistic take I’ve seen on this thread. Good stuff! Anyone saying he walks with nothing is clueless to the franchise tag and how this usually goes.
  8. Josh Downs was a baller for UNC the last two years. He has a knack for getting open and making YAC. Drake hasn’t looked as good to me without him.
  9. I think he’s gonna be fine now that he’s handed off the play calling duties. There’s too much going on for a head coach to be calling plays too.
  10. Still has a ways to go, but clear improvement for sure.
  11. We really need our defense to get healthy quickly. If that happens, I think there’s still a shot.
  12. Great job by Luvu, Jackson, Burns and the D today.
  13. Showed some potential today, especially on defense. And well we aren’t mathematically eliminated yet and we do have a very sorry division. Let’s see what happens!
  14. That one was worthy of blame - have some pocket awareness Bryce.
  15. Would be a great problem to have after observing this train wreck so far. Give us something to care about again with this team.
  16. Good points on the defensive scores. I stopped watching this team at halftime of the Lions game, but until then, I felt all the teams’ problems were around some awful and costly fumbles (by Bryce / Miles), inability to commit to the run (play calling), and panicked pocket presence by Bryce.
  17. Play calling couldn’t be worse from what I’ve seen. Now, just need to see Bryce benched for a bit until he’s more ready and truly earned the spot. Dalton gives us a better chance to win right now. And I want to see us get as many wins as possible since we don’t have a first round pick. Will be painful to give the Bears a top 10 pick in return for a rookie QB that has a long way to go.
  18. My rebuttal is the terrible offense has put our defense in some very bad spots and they’re worn out by the 3rd and 4th quarter when most of the opponent’s points get piled on.
  19. I’ve always liked him. Talent is there. Coaching and support hasn’t been.
