  1. Sure would be nice if the Hornets had some young players to be excited about...
  2. Yeah, they do. Guess they didn't like Cliff's press conference and locker room speech from the other night.
  3. 31-16 Hawks. The NBA considers every player that plays against the Hornets a star and gives them the calls to match meanwhile every Hornet is considered a scrub.
  4. The tank is really strong in this one. Frank the tank is playing.
  5. The QBs were gone except for Levis in the first round, so I added a stud to the Dline in the first instead of risking the pick on Levis. Offense was the name of the game after that and I took a flyer on McKee in the 5th round to backup Corral and double dipped at TE and guard. Also took the best kicker left on the board in the 7th just to finally take a chance on a guy that could potentially hold down the spot for the next decade.
  6. Maybe, but the NBA has proven time and again they don't give two poops about MJ owning the Hornets.
  7. That's never played a full season and has had injury issues. And was considering retiring before this season. Thank goodness you're not a GM
  8. Good point. That makes it even less likely the Hornets would win the Wemby sweepstakes or even come in second place.
  9. I'd much rather use that money on Oline players and draft a fourth or later round RB and paying them a million or less a year. That or sign an undrafted free agent RB and paying him even less.
  10. I can get behind just signing free agent rookies to super cheap deals. I can't see taking a running back in the first two rounds. I might could be talked into a third round pick though.
  11. Been focusing on the lines after the first two rounds more than anything else, but taking a shot at QB in the first and the best TE possible at the top of the second most of the time.
  12. For you guys saying resign Foreman, if it comes down to resigning him or Bozeman, who do you choose and why? Remember the Panthers are still in cap hell next year because of chasing Watson and all that dead money from previous years.
  13. You're probably right about Cody. JB loved him too. Sadly, Cliff hasn't even been able to get the younger guys to buy in on what he's selling. And they should be hungry for the playing time and willing to play defense. I don't think JB's coaching philosophy is that much different on defense than Cliff's because both have had the same issues. Offensively though? Almost night and day. Cliff loves his simple high pick and roll while JB preferred the Spurs' style ball movement. Edit: To add. The biggest defensive difference I see between them is Cliff only wants defensive boards and guys to hustle back when a shot misses where JB was fine going for offensive boards.
  14. Take emotion and that sense of loyalty out of the equation. This is not the era of featured first round RBs anymore like the 80s, 90s, or decades before that. Young mid to late round rookies on cheap contracts is the way to go at RB in today's NFL. You use them for all you can get, let 'em go, and replace with another mid to late round guy. Let some other team overpay a vet RB.
  15. According to Over the Cap, 3rd round rookies are projected to make a little over a million or less a year. 4th round or later will make less than a million a year. So even on a vet min deal, Foreman would cost more than a rookie. The smart move is to take a productive RB with less wear and injuries like Chris Rodriguez in the mid rounds to replace Foreman's production for less money and spend those few free agent dollars the Panthers have on the Oline.
  16. That's the best thing I've seen from Cliff so far. I don't think he can get these guys to buy in and giving Oubre and Rozier green lights to shoot all they want wasn't smart either.
  17. Yep. Honestly, I'll be shocked if the Hornets end up with a top 2 pick.
  18. Player development was supposed to have been JB's strong suit and why he was hired in the first place. Somewhere along the way that fell by the wayside in favor of winning. Then JB was supposedly fired over not playing the young guys in order to win now. Unless MJ and the FO fully commit to a proper rebuild, this is going to end up happening over and over.
