Roman Harper thinks Sean Payton could be our next HC now
carpanfan96 replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think Tepper has been personally involved with any of them so far, this us the only one that Nicole isn't leading. Could be wrong but yea. -

There was an article from mid season, that Tepper's target was Sean Payton. Don't remember where but if I get time, I'll go look for it. As soon as we got permission and he said he was flying to NY for a face to face, I thought it was his job. Note, Denver had to fly to him, Houston was virtual interview.. -
For those who ARE interested in Sean Payton...

Parcels might be what most are hoping for but with a better ending. Won with the Giants and then after a few years off went back to the super bowl with NE but lost. -
How would anyone feel about giving up draft picks for a coach and then said coach getting a 5 year deal worth oh say 90m.
-
I'm not sure hes been in Charlotte much since before the last home game. This just guesswork, but I think Payton is the only one meeting face to face with Tepper and that's one of the reasons I say it's his job if he wants it. Other two reasons are an article from in the middle of the season that said Tepper's top coaching target would be Payton and the Vic Fangio interview not matching the other DC interviews. Rest have ties to Seattle, Fitt and Morgan. :shrugs: could be and might be wrong about it all

Panthers receive permission to interview Sean Payton

I might be biased as a UNC fan but he's got moxy and I think he's gonna end up being pretty good -
That's where Tepper is most of time if im not mistaken. Which I could be.

Double post.

Some of the DC candidates have ties to coaches being interviewed.

Not sure if we had, but he brings the Panthers up and talks about the weakness of the NFC south and it possibly being an easier road compared to Denver.

Could anything make you quit the team?
carpanfan96 replied to Brooklyn 3.0's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've moved 3 times since the superbowl season, so haven't super followed the team and watched every game since. NC to Texas to NC to Illinois. Kinda hard to find the games and I'm not dropping money for gamepass. -
They can't til they fulfill the rooney rule.
-
Here's the link, it's pretty far into the piece. When they start talking about jobs and divisions and such. He goes out of his way to mention Carolina and the NFC south and this was 2 days ago. https://youtu.be/NGqKPmm8wL4

Watch the interview with his daughter on Payton's play.

Panthers receive permission to interview Sean Payton

Nah, they asking for a late first. 2 2023 2nd round picks. That's equivalent of a late first. -
It's Sean Payton's job if he wants it and it looks like he does. So... ehhh... coaching search went weird quick. I always thought it was Wilks or Johnson getting the job.

Saints have placed the baseline as a first plus additional picks, that's been known. -
Big thing for me is the locker room and Wilks won it, if you go with a new coach.. he's going to have to be able to go in and win the players over, otherwise.. gonna have major turnover first 2 seasons, players wanting out and bad seasons. Especially so if it's Payton over Wilks, I'd expect a ton of turnover. Like restart the rebuild and any Wilks players will have sour taste in their mouth and tank team chemistry type of bad from the sounds of it.

He's got ties to Fitt and morgan from Seattle. That's it as far as I can tell.

Dayum 4 int in the first half... wtf is wrong with Trevor. Yeesh

They ranked 22nd, 5th, 14th and 22nd in his four seasons. I said injuries combined with age. Moore has ranked 1st, 14th, 1st and 11th in his four years.
-
I didn't think they were good under Scott Linehan either. I also think a lot of the regression is because of players age and being injured so much.
-
Thats why you pair a qb coach that you believe can take over oc duties in 2 years.

If you want to get the #1 pick from the Bears, what's your move?
carpanfan96 replied to EgoDogg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Don't think it's even possible to trade Moore with his cap hit this coming season. 25m cap hit and 35m in dead cap.
