  1. Not even sure what qbr is. Goeff has the 3rd highest QB rating at around 115 but has the 18th worse qbr rating at 57. Sam Darnold is even worse at 56. Hell, it qbr ranks Spencer Rattler as a better QB than Shough (24th and 25th respectively). Something seriously does not add up. For what it is worth, 4 of the first six teams the Panthers played had defenses ranked 26th through 32nd while 4 of the last 6 teams they played were ranked in the top 10 in defense. So they played tougher defenses and had higher completion percentages, higher yrds/rec, higher TD % and lower int %. Not sure how you can improve in all those areas against better teams and have the same qbr. Odd. https://sumersports.com/teams/defensive/
  2. The first 6 games of the season had TMac with 0 NFL experience and XL with his 54% catch rate as the number 1 and 2 receivers. They combined for 46/82 catches (56.1%), 539 yards (11.72 yds /rec ) and Young had 11 TDs and 8 TOs. The last 6 games had a more experienced TMac and Coker as the number 1 and 2 receivers and they combined for 49/69 catches (71 %), 732 yards (14.94 yds/rec) and Young had 11 TD’s and only 3 TO’s. Some people around here believe a QBs’ performance works in a vacuum. It doesn’t. No doubt a lot of Young’s inconsistencies are his own fault but he has shown improvement since Coker returned and started getting more playing time. That with the fact TMac will have an entire year of experience means there should be a lot more games like Saturdays’ next year.
  3. For whatever it's worth, I do think he is a players' coach and hope he does well wherever he winds up so long as it is not with the Falcons.
  4. Gotcha. And yes there is a bit of a difference between the two coordinators
  5. We will jut have to disagree on that. Horn has made some plays this year so there was no reason not to have him running that route. He ran a good route, got open and had the ball in his hands. He just dropped it. He'll catch it the next time. I do agree with the terrible play calls prior to that.
  6. Greg Olsen, Ochocinco, Shannon Sharp and Steve Smith have all commented on how he should have caught it. I'll take their opnion. And even if it had been the most perfect pass in the history of the NFL, there is no way that is a TD lol
  7. That ball was not behind him and it while it was low, it wasn't too low. TMac had made a catch on a similar pass earlier in the game. NFL receivers routinely make those catches. If they can't make them, they shouldn't be in the NFL. I agree with you though and hate it for him. I thought he played well for the limited touches he got.
  8. Coker emerged at the end of last season - most people just missed it. The real difference is XL with his most offensive penalties on the team and his 54% catch rate would not have been needed. It would have been TMac and Theilen and then TMac, Theilen and Coker. That's probably good for another win or two. I agree though getting the draft picks was worth him not being here given how the season finished.
  9. You make it sound like Jones' failed. He didn't. Purdy just recovered and took his starting job back. Yes, the Steelers went to the playoffs again and immediately lost - again.
  10. 9~10 win seasons without a single playoff win since 2017 is not overachieving.
  11. The guy posting said "make the playoffs with the likes of tiny hands Pickett, Rudolph, Russ, washed up Rodgers," So like I said, he could have brought Jones in this year instead of Rodgers. My point being those were his choices and a big part of what people are measured by are the choices they make. Those were not good choices.
  12. He could have picked up Matt Jones or Daniel Jones or Matt Willis, etc. They were available but they chose to bring in the guys you described instead. Given how long he has been with the Steelers, I can't help but think he has a pretty big say in who they bring in so those choices fall on him. And while has has made the playoffs, it was always as a wild card team and they lost the first game each time.
  13. He was there for 18 years. Pretty sure he had a part of the roster construction.
  14. And has the same number of postseason wins as the Panthers have over the last 8 years - 0. And that is with a consistently good defense.
  15. Tomlin without Roethlisberger has not been anything special.
  16. There are way too many other needs to be wasting any spot on a QB project
  17. I'm not sure I would be bragging about all the talent Young had to start the season with given it was Legette, Tremayne and Renfrow. Yes he did have TMac but he was a rookie with zero NFL experience. Combined, he and XL had a 54% catch rate for the first half of the season. I will agree though, that once Coker got back and TMac got some experience, the talent was better. I think the better comparison would be between their rookie seasons as they sound like very similar situations: fired coach, lack of talent, etc.
  18. They replaced him with Stafford. Where you gonna find another Stafford and what do the Panthers have to give up to get him if he was even available?
  19. Jackson was leading the NFL in passes defended prior to todays game. I would guess he will still be leading after todays game. He has as many ints as Horn and the pick 6. Horn has the most or next to most pass interference and defensive holding calls for a db in the NFL this season. Jackson has 1. Horn has a 4 year, 100 million dollar contract. Jackson has a 14.5 million dollar contract. Saying Jackson was better today is not saying Horn isn't good.
  20. Evero called a great game up till the final 3 minutes. The Rams found success in teh middle of the field and Evero never adjusted. Still, he has performed way better this season than I anticipated and unlike last season, would be fine with bringing him back. Just need to find a pass rush.
  21. Can't stand him! Can't even stand to listen to him talk.
  22. I've said it before but Jackson played better than Horn - again. Jackson was a stud today and deserves a lot of credit for keeping the Panthers in the game.
  23. It would also be nice to have an oline could actually pass block. Young was under pressure all day - unlike Stafford.
  24. I do not know who made this but it is f*cking great!
