  1. It would be foolish to let him walk. Horn had two concussions and has a history of injury. When you consider he was a terrible tackler before, you have to prepare for issues with him in the future. I would not be surprised if he misses multiple games again next season and actually gets worse with his tackling as he will NOT be looking to hit hard. As good as Horn is, depending on him to consistently play is foolish at this point. Hell, another concussion and he may call it quits. Luke and Jewel did.
  2. I'm reading the post here and for the most part am lmao at ya'll, but after watching Strouds' video, I have to say I agree, he looks like he's about to cry. He may be done.
  3. He just drove them down the field for a score and there is plenty of time to do it again. You know saying things like that make you look like an idiot right.
  4. In the 4th qtr after the score was 42 - 6. He sure wasn't benched to give the Panthers a chance to win so saying he was benched is misleading.
  5. You don't pull Stroud. Watch him come back. It ain't over.
  6. You do remember we played them right. Bryce had 1 TD and 0 INTS with an 84 rating. And that was with TMac with his total of 4 NFL starts, Tremayne who was brought in from someones practice squad and XL with his 50% catch rate - no Coker.
  7. I understand. I remember the debates about Cam so know this isn't an isolated event.
  8. LOl not schizo (although my wife may disagree). Just tired of starting off having conversations about Bryce that aways seem to go sideways and wind up in a pissing match. I've decided it's not worth it. I know you guys have your opinion and I'll never change it so why even try. That does not mean I will not jump in a conversation to debate particular points. I still feel the same way about him today as I always have. I've just learned there are certain things not worth debating/argueing about.
  9. I said there are three groups. How is that looping everyone together?
  10. Like I said, I think the 4th was a good call and good play. Should have been a completion. Betweeen the Saints with game bad call on TMac and the Buccs game with bad calls swinging 6 points their way, I am not surprised they didn't get that holding call. The Panthers have just been on the wrong side of calls for most of the season for whatever reason.
  11. I can't tell you what other's expect from him before they will start believing in him. I think for some, they will never be able to overcome his size. I think that is the fundemental problem for them which means they will never be happy with him behind center. For others, it seems he will have to be in the top 10% in pretty much every catagory and do that all seaon for them to start believing in him. Not everyone of course. There are people on this board that, while have doubts, can still acknowledge his good plays and are willing to give him another season. Those folks I would assume just want consistency - and wins. I could be off on all the above but that's kind of how I see it. And while you didn't ask, I will say I'm glad they picked up his 5th year option. He earned it. I do not think he should be signed to a long term contract yet. I do think he will develope in a franchise QB and will get the Panthers back into the playoffs and win them but I know I could be wrong. Next year will be the big test. If the offense continues to improve and they get back to the playoffs because of the offense, it will be time to sign him long term. If it's a repeat of this year, then it's time to look elsewhere for a QB. Like I said though, I believe he can be the guy so would be surprised if he doesn't make it.
  12. I agree that it is disapponting that nothing went their way on the first three downs and I do not know if it's because of the play calling, the pressure on Bryce or Bryce just missed them. I just think the last call was a good call. Horn got open and the pass was there. He just dropped it. Terrible time for his first drop of the season but again, he had made a 4th down catch earlier so there was no reason to think he couldn't scatch it.
  13. Saying Horn caught a 4th down pass earlier in the season doesn't make sense to you? I'm not trying to be arguementative, I just don't think you are being fair to Horn. Put it this way, if you were to say to Horn, "I would have rather they had throw an interception to TMac or Cooker than have passed it to you" you don't think he wouldn't take that as an insult?
  14. Horn had a 73.3% catch rate for the season with 0 drops up till that time and the one time he was thrown to on 4th down he caught it for 17 yards. He showed he could get open, he showed he had a good catch rate and he showed he could be counted on under pressure (catching the pass on 4th down.) The poster saying he would rather throw an interception than throw to Horn with those stats is not just rediculous, it's also insulting to Horn. And I know how you feel about Bryce. We'll just have to agree to disagree.
  15. I've already posted this but I think it's worth repeating here: "To me, that's an insult to Horn but that's besides the point. Against the Dolphins, the Panthers faced a 4-5 with 3:31 left in the game. Bryce hit Horn for a 17 yrd completion picking up the 4th down and leading to a score for the win." So what was wrong with using Horn on that down given they had done it before - with success? It just seems to me people are trying to belittle Horn just to make Young look bad. I can understand you not liking Young, and don't have a problem with it, but I'm not sure I can understand insulting another player just to make something fit your narrative.
  16. The lack of consistent ball placement has been a point of contention here and for good reason. This season Young has a 16.4% bad throw rate. That's the best of his career. For comparisons, this year CJ Stroud is at 17.6% and Caleb Williams is at 20.7% so Young is more accurate than both of them. Baker is at 15.7% but for his first 5 seasons, he was between 17.9 and 20.9 so while slightly behind Mayfield currently, he is better than him at the same point in their respective careers. Saying he is inaccurate is simply untrue this season. I don't necessarily fault Horn here because as I said in previous posts he never should have been in that position. To me, that's an insult to Horn but that's besides the point. Against the Dolphins, the Panthers faced a 4-5 with 3:31 left in the game. Bryce hit Horn for a 17 yrd completion picking up the 4th down and leading to a score for the win. So I don't understand why you wouldn't think he could do it again. As far as the ball placement, every analyst and former player I have heard has stated Horn should have made the catch. Not one of them has said a thing about the pass being bad or that Bryce should have thrown it better.
  17. Wait, you would rather have Bryce throw a pick than throw a catchable ball to a receiver who dropped it because he was a rookie. That is some strange logic there.
  18. Not even sure what qbr is. Goeff has the 3rd highest QB rating at around 115 but has the 18th worse qbr rating at 57. Sam Darnold is even worse at 56. Hell, it qbr ranks Spencer Rattler as a better QB than Shough (24th and 25th respectively). Something seriously does not add up. For what it is worth, 4 of the first six teams the Panthers played had defenses ranked 26th through 32nd while 4 of the last 6 teams they played were ranked in the top 10 in defense. So they played tougher defenses and had higher completion percentages, higher yrds/rec, higher TD % and lower int %. Not sure how you can improve in all those areas against better teams and have the same qbr. Odd. https://sumersports.com/teams/defensive/
  19. The first 6 games of the season had TMac with 0 NFL experience and XL with his 54% catch rate as the number 1 and 2 receivers. They combined for 46/82 catches (56.1%), 539 yards (11.72 yds /rec ) and Young had 11 TDs and 8 TOs. The last 6 games had a more experienced TMac and Coker as the number 1 and 2 receivers and they combined for 49/69 catches (71 %), 732 yards (14.94 yds/rec) and Young had 11 TD’s and only 3 TO’s. Some people around here believe a QBs’ performance works in a vacuum. It doesn’t. No doubt a lot of Young’s inconsistencies are his own fault but he has shown improvement since Coker returned and started getting more playing time. That with the fact TMac will have an entire year of experience means there should be a lot more games like Saturdays’ next year.
  20. For whatever it's worth, I do think he is a players' coach and hope he does well wherever he winds up so long as it is not with the Falcons.
