College football moves the needle in this country and is probably only behind the nfl. I’m a college hoops guy but these realignments are not being made because of college basketball.

Not to mention the alcohol sales now and the NIL that will make athletes and teams even more lucrative. sure, to some 50-60 year old boomer who gets angry when a player sits out a meaningless bowl game because they don’t want to jeopardize millions of dollars, college sports might be dying, but if you look at the checks being written and what the highest rated programs were I can assure you that they ain’t dying. a better way to put it is “college sports are changing, adapting to different times and adjusting to more capitalistic principals and I don’t like it” now nascar, that is a sport that is actually dying a slow painful death

The AFAM “scandal” at UNC was fake news. These were liberal studies classes that were legitimate and required work. While I did not take them, I have friends that did. Yes, they were easy but not the bullshit that was fed to you by people like Dan Kane and Pete Thamel. Everyone knows the athletes get special treatment and know exactly which classes to take for easy grades - especially the kids that are only going to be there for a semester. Word on the street is that Trevor Keels was strongly advised to return to duke but quit going to spring class and wasn’t going to be eligible. Classes like this are available everywhere. People didn’t like seeing how the sausage was made because they were so naive to belive the student athletes were there working to cure cancer. Lol.

The only things Crap State and EZU can teach UNC is how to smoke yourself stupid or how to self diagnose the clap Go heels!

Mzzou a large state school with more alumni and public interests. Much, much more goes into the decisions than just a basketball team that hasn’t won sh-t since 2015.

Duke does not have the attendance, facilities, endowment, alumni base, etc to transition to a super conference especially one that places an emphasis on football.

How come no other conference has taken Kansas? An elite bball program with garbage teams everywhere else. Duke football is a complete joke. There’s high schools with better stadiums Duke is a small Christian private school that brings nothing to the table aside from basketball. Realistically, Duke would be a much better fit to the Big East. Can link up with all the other private basketball schools.

ACC won’t be dismantled, if at all, for at least 10-15 years. How many years they have left on that revenue sharing agreement that Swofford pushed through. It’s way too much money they would be forfeiting.

Duke, and say this respectfully, ain’t gonna be in the B10 or SEC. They bring absolutely nothing to the table aside from basketball. Nothing. Which is gonna suck because it means UNC/duke will turn in to UL/UK where they’ll play once a year on a neutral court. UVA, UNC, NCST, Louisville, ND would be the ACC teams most likely to head to the big ten. All current ACC teams have an agreement that if any team leaves for another conference they will forfeit their money. It ain’t happening in the next decade but in 20 years there will probably only be 2-3 super conferences. B12 and PAC12 are toast ACC would probably be next but That’s a lot of what ifs.
