  1. Leave that to me. And don't ask questions.
  2. 1. Wait until the 4th round 2. Draft Cameron Artis-Payne 3.??? 4. Profit
  3. DeAngelo Williams = dignity and class. Will *always* be a fan!
  4. Nobody who is realistic has said that Cam and his agent want "more" because of the rookie salary cap. All we've said is that Cam and his agent will want CURRENT market value. And that CURRENT market value is likely going to be $20 million per year or more. So please, go address your statement to the "Cam only should take $16 million per year FOR THE GOOD OF THE TEAM!!!" people.
  5. You don't like Cam and you don't like Cam as the QB of your football team. You've made that quite, quite clear.
  6. There's a reason why Dex and his ilk don't want Cam to get his market value. And that reason has nothing to do with the good of the team. We all know that.
  7. Cam already "gave up millions" because of the rookie salary cap. The fact that the team was fuged because of Hurney during that time and had no money to spend to "fix" things that they need to fix now is no fault of Cam's. In fact, his play has COVERED up so many of those past mistakes it ain't even funny. Yet the big Humanitarian Dex thinks he should, yet again, "give up millions". How easy it is when its not your own money, right Dex? Throwing around Monopoly money was always THE BEST!
  8. I think it was a great move by the league. But I think you "Cam should take less" proponents conveniently ignore the fact that he already has. The fact that his team was STILL in salary cap hell while he was "taking less" is no fault of Cam's.
  9. You must have missed me defending Amari Cooper as the #1 receiver in the draft vs. the Kevin White proponents in the WR Combine thread yesterday.
  10. Since there's "a lot of folks" that want to do what you said above, you should have no problem pointing some of them out, right?
  11. The fact is that Cam *ALREADY* "took less". Its called the Rookie Salary Cap of which his rookie class was the first member. Look up Sam Bradford's rookie contract. Then look up Cam Newton's. Now explain to me about "taking less" again.
  12. There is NO comparison between the endorsements that Jordan got (and still gets) to the endorsements that Cam has (and can get). To even imply that there is is utterly delusional.
  13. Trust me when I tell you this: If Jordan hadn't been receiving mega-bucks from Nike, he wouldn't have been taking less from the Bulls.
  14. Better we blow our cap and leave our QB with no help? You sir are a solid contributer.
  15. Well, we can always try to do what all the other teams with no franchise QBs that don't make the playoffs do, right?
  16. Well, that's not true at all. I guess when you play poker you always make the same bet no matter what you have in your hand? Because the draft is always a gamble... no pick is ever a sure thing. Its always a balance of risk vs. reward. A guy like DGB is heavy on the risk side, so you the more rational move would be to try to wait as long as possible to pick him to lower the risk your team is taking on him. Your method would be to take him in the 1st round and make the riskiest bet possible... kind of like going all-in on a pair of Jacks. Go for it! On a hunch! It *MAY* work out! Blowing your 1st round draft choice? Bad. Blowing your 3rd round draft choice? Nowhere near as bad. Its actually pretty simple.
  17. It would be awesome if you could explain my "hatred" of a player who I would LOVE to see teams pass on into the 3rd round so we could select him there and put him on the team. Or is not agreeing with you that he's worth a 1st or 2nd rounder "hate" now? And you are accurate in at least one thing... a guy with a long track record of (to be polite) "immature" deeds hasn't yet earned my "trust" (not that my trust is required anyway) after only "turning his life around" for a few months. So, yeah, you're right about that. I would bet that statistically there's just as many or more examples of guys with his track record who "turned it around" after a few months NOT having actually "turned it around" and going back to the same old habits than those who have sincerely changed their lives. ESPECIALLY after getting a few million dollars in the bank so that they can finally do what they REALLY always wanted to do.
  18. I know that you hate the guy, but this is a red herring. You're better than this.
  19. Playing weight at Mizzou? 225. Combine weigh-in? 237. Yeah, sure seems like this guy has his head on straight and is ready to show that he has what it takes to make it in the League.
  20. Hilarious how some of you are still sticking with the "morality" strawman.
  21. Ahhh, I see. A convenient strawman. Why didn't you just say so! You sure gave that strawman some heck though!
  22. You realize he's gonna make $15 million this year even without a contract extension, right? And that the franchise tag for NFL QBs in 2014 was $17 million? And will be higher than that in 2015? And higher than THAT in 2016 (the first year Cam could be tagged)? And that franchise tag salary is all applied to a single years cap since none of it is bonus that can be pro-rated across the term of the contract? So explain to me again how a long-term deal averaging $20 million for their Pro Bowl franchise QB would be bad for the franchise?
