  1. That miles’ contract isn’t going to impact our salary cap or limit us from signing any big deal players. His highest cap hit (2 years from now) won’t even be 5% of the total cap. To be fair… it prolly will be around 2.5% at that point in time.
  2. Dw? if we cut Djax… it’s dead 9 but save 6. So it’s 3 million less. That’s if it is pre-6/1. It’s a hypothetical that I really think would be a waste of time to explore because it’s a year away and meaningless to discuss.
  3. Overpay is subjective in the miles scenario. We really don’t know where he lands on worth because it’s only week 4. If he goes off for 5. + TDS and 1k yards… then no one is going to be mad that he makes 5 million per year In all honesty, as fans we shouldn’t give a poo about what these players get paid… it’s a waste of energy and doesn’t impact us at all. The only time I’d get frustrated is something like the RA contract or Sean Gilbert.
  4. Kind of misleading since 33 million of that is from the CMC and DJ Moore trades. Robby Anderson is the bonehead one with the 9 mill in dead cap… the rest is cuts and restructures
  5. You have to pay all players, there is no escaping that. The top 32 paid Running backs collectively make an average of ~5-6 million this year. we are paying our running back the league average.
  6. Maybe it’s better to wait until next year to see if it’s still 7th… I’d be willing to bet it’s not even top 10. It’s just not how the nfl salary cap works. also, going year by year and choosing when it is its highest.. is not the best way to evaluate a contract total cost. You want to do TCV over MS .. not YOY cap hit
  7. Lol “highest paid” blows my mind how many people trip on sanders pay. The guy is making less than the rookies taken in the first round.
  8. Yeah, he was a top 10 safety heading into week 3. His coverage skills were graded really well. kind of crazy that we actually have a good duo at the safeties spots… sucks we only got to see it for two weeks
  9. It goes hand in hand with the phrase “control your own destiny” just hot phrasing for a metaphorical meaning… but people take it literally
  10. My buddy who is bears fan is very mad they didn’t stay put and take Bryce. Thinks that Bryce would have been perfect fit for their offense. Everyone has an opinion
  11. Not sure how repeating what the manning brothers said about “must win games” has to do with our franchise…..
  12. What if he has a Jared Goff/Kirk Cousins/Stafford like career?
  13. The huddle hivemind predicted and chose four of the picks we made this year. It was a super positive place here on draft weekend for every pick but DJ Johnson.
  14. Technically only “must win games” are playoffs and clinches.
  15. I agree with @pantherclawhere. So does Bleacher Report’s podcast gridiron something. they did a huge breakdown on this and why playing back picks actually made against the value of a trade. They basically kept it simple and said that it is two different deals, not just one big deal. When trading assets like draft picks you are trading the value of them based off of a points system, and not the player you get for picking them. basically we traded CMC for x points in Draft picks. Deal done. the next deal we traded x points in draft picks for x points for draft pick that led to DJ. they used the dolphins trades in the late 2010s as examples, and shared that you could follow that trade line for 5 years before guessing whether it was worth it. The total trade line had 13 different draft picks and 5 players. Pending where on the timeline you chose to evaluate the deal… it looked good, bad, ugly and beautiful at different points over the course of 5 years. Basically leading to the conclusion that you can’t judge a deal based on the assets’ end, only at the time of trade.
  16. We don’t know what the inverse of the situation would have been. We could have signed Derek Carr, Jimmy G, or minshew and never made the trade. Then ended up finishing around 7-10 - 11-6 …. Then picking in the middle of the first next year. then how are we feeling? Delaying the inevitable at that point. we can create as many universes as we want … but stressing about what pick the bears get completely dismisses the purpose of the deal.
  17. Why? That’s such a silly mindset. The trade wasn’t about 2023-2024… it’s about 2024+ … a top 5 bears pick is a top 5 pick in the 2nd round for us. if your argument is that “we could have had a top 5 pick next year without the trade” … sure but no franchise quarterback. that trade was about the future not a single season. Decisions made in short term bubbles was what doomed us under Rhule. if bears getting a top 5 pick stings… then you are looking at this all wrong. my personal take is that we won’t be in the top 5, but we will give up a top 10. However, I think we have a strong close out to the season and carry the momentum into next year. Barring injuries.
  18. Yo this chandler jones poo going on on Twitter today is fuging wild. (also for those calling us a joke… we are nowhere close to trending on Twitter as a joke franchise on Twitter. Right now bears and raiders are stealing the show. the only people that talk about us on Twitter is us.
  19. Not back yet, just sick with Covid or something. Figured I’d check some huddle. Been laying in the airbnb bed for 3 days straight in Rome. Kinda sucks tbh.
